Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Consulting the hive mind. I am in the process of a clutch change on a 2.5 1999 Boxster. I popped the cable ends off the balls on the linkage that is bolted to the transmission. Looking inside the cable end shows that the white teflon cup has a split. it's not smashed or in multiple pieces but there is a crack from the edge to the center of the cup. I don't know if it has been split for a while, or whether it broke as the result of being brittle and was stressed during the process of being popped off the ball. Does this need to be changed? thanks Beardy
