Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I've fitted HID kits to cars previous, they're not all that..
Leading evidence: 'Install hid kits' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). I would also recommend the porsche sports exhaust.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hello,
I have been a proud owner of my first purchase of a Porsche for a month now and the car has all standard equipment.
I received a free pre-purchase inspection from Jon Mitchell Garage in Poole and they were very accomodating and highlighted some good advisory notes.
The things that I have been "advised" to have done first to modify my C4S for maximum effect are the exhaust or back boxes and also the wheels. Currently 996 Turbo wheels, but would like to get some 997 Turbo wheels.
I have attached the link from the same garage of the mods that they offer and would be grateful of any feedback with regards to what mods are best to have done first, in order.
Thanks for reading this.

Money making 'recommendation' by them... Stick to the 996 Turbo wheels, you'll actually get worse performance on a 996 from 997 size wheels. As for exhaust, do a search on here, hundreds of threads on it.
C4S, we need pictures... :thumb:
I re-read your post after looking at the decidely dodgy (and unOEM) list of mods they offer.
A "free" PPI, then a segue into sales pitch. Interesting :?:
997 Turbo wheels are just about acceptable on a 997 Turbo (too bling for me, the 997.2 wheels are far nicer IMHO).
On anything else, and particularly the 996 :yuk:
PS - is Klaus Hoffman a German ***** star or something, never heard of it in terms of mapping prowess.
Sounds like one of those fake JML/TK Maxx style brand names that initially evokes a feeling of plausibility, but in fact is just Chinese tat with a made up name in an expensive looking box.
I am not sure how a static map logically can cope with additional subsequent mods it cannot detect or adjust to?
Dyno plots are about £40 a shot.
Congrats on the new purchase, and welcome to the wide-body club!
I wouldn't upgrade the wheels (unless possibly to the hollow-spoke Porsche Technology wheels which look good and are lighter or genuine 996 Turbo wheels which look the same as yours, but are hollow-spoke and thus lighter).
Exhaust- agreed, the car does benefit from new back-boxes. I have the Porsche Switchable Exhaust (PSE) on mine, which is absolutely brilliant, but I believe it has now gone up a lot in cost. Also, to be honest the sound is never wearing even on a long cruise, so I rarely switch it out except for early morning/late night stealth ops.
If you car's not got Litronic lights, I'd strongly recommend a HID light upgrade (try HIDs4u) as this makes a big difference over standard.
Agree with all above - 997 turbo wheels - no!. 996 turbo wheels on ebay now for about 750 quid - say another 800 quid for new PS2 an your sorted.
As far as exhaust goes a OEM C4S Porsche Sports Exhaust (PSE) is thousands - see PSE thread elsewhere on here recently.
There is a non OEM option with Hayward and Scott which is about 300 or so. Listen to your own exhaust and then watch this to see if you like PSE.

Congrats on the purchase - I am biased but IMHO a C4S rocks.
Agree with all the above.
A sports exhaust (for sound, not performance) is the best upgrade for any 996 Carrera.
I WANT ONE OF THOSE 9XX BOOST IMPROVERS!!! BARGAIN!! :floor:
Hi,
Personally prefer sticking to model variant with additions and not adding 997 aspects to the 996 etc.
I am not a fan of the standard turbo alloys and prefer the Sport Techno alloys an expensive option at the time for the 996. See sig. I would also recommend the porsche sports exhaust.
Other options are interior carbon fibre parts but appreciate it is not to every one's taste.
Regarding bi xenon if not an option I would go for good phillips bulbs rather tha the kits and true retro fitting to include the auto balance is not possible.
The biggest recommendation of course is driver training/track days, you can never have enough of these as aways learning the limits of the car.
Regards Alan.
