Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey guys, I am about to purchase a 911 sc without a heater or AC. I reckon I could survive without ac but I am interested in your opinion on whether you have done without heating when driving during winter.

POST 2Original post

Not being a smartass here, yet I imagine it's the same as driving any car without heating in winter. Just wear warmer clothing 👍 😁 Why doesn't it have heating would be my first question

POST 3Original post

You want heat for down there. It could be a good opportunity to backdate the heating system, in which case there are lots of options, including exhaust.

I would have thought you would feel a bit warmer from the inner glow of 911 classic ownership ? Okay warmer clothing it is. I think there is a bit of weight savings from heater delete. The previous owner stripped out the heater Lee.

POST 5Original post

ahh the smell of the operational SC heater system lol well, defogging the windscreen is the biggest issue I found when my SC heater blower ducting was leaking, so that would be my main concern for you

Well thats rather annoying 🙄

POST 8Original post

Sounds like the car is running a set of headers with no heat exchanger? If so, you could get a fabricator to make some simple chambers to emulate the original exhaust system. Or buy a set of SSi heat exchangers Should be fairly simple to get some heat back in there.

POST 9Original post

or the flapper boxes are gone. That would make it pretty easy.

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks guys. Great feedback. The guys at nine auto said they could restore heating without a considerable cost. The car has an SSI header system installed so it shouldn’t be difficult to append some chambers/tubes ?

POST 11Original post

I have a set of SsI heaters for a 3.0, I know the car you’re talking about, I just did some work on it for the owner Luke.
