Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I don't think you have been unlucky I just think that the dealer needs to work closely with Porsche and between them provide you with a repaired car that you can trust and enjoy ASAP.
Leading evidence: 'Repair car' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Repair car' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

They also tested the flow and pressure after the repair to ensure it was all within norm, which it was.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Okay... so just looking for some ideas to maybe help out isolate the issues I've been having with the cooling system...
I realise I've got a few posts on here about this, but thought I'd post this one as a highlight to see if through the wisdom of the members on here I get on and enjoy my Turbo and have confidence back in it... especially in my situation being in a chair I can't afford to breakdown on the outskirts of nowhere... where the only thing between me and the nearest town is miles of farms and 1,000's of sheep...
A brief history (just to recap my other posts)...
Got the car (996 Turbo) in early November last year, about 3 months later (3000km) it blew the 1st coolant-housing pipe. At the time they replaced the coolant-housing pipe and pressure release valve. They also tested the flow and pressure after the repair to ensure it was all within norm, which it was.
About 2 1/2 months after getting the car back (2500km) it blew the 2nd coolant-housing pipe. At this time we opted to replaced the balance of all such pipes on the engine... so 4 have been replaced in total. Again they assured me they tested the coolant system as hard as they could after completing the work.
I got the car back 2 weeks ago, it started faulting on the ABS, PSM and CEL (which they are pointing to a MAF failure)... but anyway while the car was back with them (600km travelled) and sitting in the workshop on idle doing testing on the MAF... it split a small rubber coolant pipe lengthways down the pipe (one that goes from the block to the block).
The OPC has told me based on all the testing they have done and the mileage travelled between failures they can see neither rhyme nor reason for the coolant failures. As everything including the engine tests out okay. They have indicated that if the system over pressurises that generally other components will fail first...
Right... thoughts please...
1. Am I just an unlucky bastard and it's just one of those things... and 3rd times a charm?
or
2. Are they missing something? If so what should they be focusing on?
Cheers
IMO They should be able to fix a hose leak and get you back on the road ASAP after all your issues(some of which have appeared while the car has been their hands)
If I were you, I would ask to meet the dealer principle and tell him/her(in a nice, diplomatic way) that you want a fault free car returned within 5 days that has been fully checked out by a master technician and that anything less than that is simply not/no longer acceptable to you as a customer. I would also raise your profile/issue with Porsche in NZ/Aus.
I assume that they have given you a car to run around in until yours is ready?
I don't think you have been unlucky I just think that the dealer needs to work closely with Porsche and between them provide you with a repaired car that you can trust and enjoy ASAP. It's not a lot to ask, given the time and money that has been ploughed into this issue by yourself.
You have paid good money to have your car fixed so that you and your family can enjoy it. IMO the dealer/Porsche have let you down thus far and now need to get this Turbo's issues sorted out once and for all.
To do that YOU will now have to turn up the heat.
I hate "coincidences" like you have been experiencing with the cooling system. Surely these problems are related in some way. Sure, we have a couple of members on here with Turbo water pump problems, but blowing off, and split, hoses? It must be rare.
Has the dealer spoken to Germany about it? If not, I would definitely get them to do that. To me, it seems that they are in the dark about what is actually going on, and PAG might be able to shed some light.
The PSM, ABS and CEL all appear to relate to faulty MAF. It's a little coincidental it's failed immediately after getting the car back but unfortunately it's just one of those things. The dealer is pointing the finger most likely at the aftermarket pod filter as the cause. So anyway with this I've not only managed to find a new MAF off eBay for a fraction of the price one would pay here, but also a new replacement synthetic pod filter which is oil free and guarenteed 100% MAF safe.
In respect of the coolant failures... I'm just considering the options to replace all the like radiator hoses. Does anybody know how many there are to replace? From what I can see eBay offers a few silicon hose replacement options and are indicating 8 pipes... is this correct? and has anybody had experience with these or other recommendations?
Cheers
