Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I think it would be a false economy buying any used, 43 plus year old component with a rubber diaphragm exposed to fuel vapor.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello All I have been attempting to track down a decel valve for my SC. Not available from larger parts vendors here or in the States and lead time ex Germany is 3-5 weeks. Any clues re lesser known sources?

POST 2Original post

I was surprised to think that Pelican wouldn't have one, as they seem to have almost everything. https://www.pelicanparts.com/More_Info/91111022031.htm?pn=911-110-220-31-OEM&bc=c&SVSVSI=0566 Sorry if this is unhelpful...

Have you considered running it without a decel valve?  My understanding is that it is there to bleed air around the closed throttle butterfly to reduce hydrocarbon emissions when you suddenly come off the throttle at high rpm.  May even be nicer to drive without it activated. Just to be clear, you are referring to the decel valve and not say the auxiliary air valve as I wouldn't have thought most people would notice a faulty decel valve?

POST 4Original post

If you're still looking, I'd also try the Porsche dismantlers and independent specialists rather than the larger parts vendors. A good used OEM decel valve is often a better option than waiting weeks for a new one. It would also help if you could post the Porsche/Bosch part number and your SC's model year, as some of the CIS components interchange between years. Someone on the forum may even have a spare sitting on the shelf.

POST 6Original post

Don’t waste your time, bypass it, if I find one faulty in the shop, I just disconnect it, makes for a snappier response slightly when coming off the throttle without it.
