Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

I'm hoping its just a case of "sucking" up the metal, similar to how they repair hail damage.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1Original post

Driving on a windy day, branch falls from a tree & hits the roof. I'll be taking it to a Paintless Dent Remover guy I've used in the past with good results. I shall post up "after" pics when the job is complete. Wish me luck

POST 2Original post

Send GatorBite a PM if he doesn't see this first. He had some dent removal work done on the roof recently as well. If you're reasonable handy, you may want to remove the headliner yourself first before the dent guy starts his work.

POST 3Original post

I'm hoping its just a case of "sucking" up the metal, similar to how they repair hail damage.

POST 4Original post

Nope, they now confirmed the roof liner will be coming off, just the one side.

POST 5Original post

I've been searching for a headliner removal DIY on this forum? Also judging by this photo I hope my ding is "after" the windscreen crossbar, otherwise how would the tool reach? I measured the ding to be just over 10cm from the windscreen.

POST 6Original post

I had to take my headliner out to access a branch dent (3 actually) on my roof. The good news is, your dents are no where near the braced areas. A paintless dent guy should be able to access them nicely. I didn't write up an article, but basically, the headliner is held in by the C and A pillar trims (in that order), the sun visors, dome lght and Home Link control. Take all of those off, and there is one clip in the back center of the headliner. The tricky part is, getting it out of the way. This is accomplished by sliding it carefully into the rear hatch area.

POST 7Original post

Thanks for the tip, the headliner was easy to remove, in fact just one side of the liner needed removing because the the tool was able to fit between the gap. The guy who fixed it recently repaired a hail damaged Cayman so it wasn't new to him. It's as good as new! thanks.
