Above got any real life pictures of crayon... ideally with anthracite wheels. Be great to see... worried it’s too beige

POST 2Original post

Billy_Whizzzz said: Above got any real life pictures of crayon... ideally with anthracite wheels. Be great to see... worried it’s too beige I’ve had crayon on my GT3 and my current 718 Spyder. I think it really suited the GT3, I’m less keen on it on the Spyder if I’m honest. These are obviously real life pictures but the phone I took them on and the monitor you’re using etc etc will affect the colour - best to see it in the flesh if you can as I don’t think it photographs that well. Hope they help!

POST 3Original post

Crayon looks epic on 911’s with contrasting bits of black to break it up - really is a stunning colour. On Macan’s IMHO it’s a big no and agree on Spyders / GT4’s it’s nice but IMHO , not quite as nice as a 911

Posted this pic on another thread recently where someone was looking at Sport Classic Grey and Crayon The top is Crayon

All these pics of it not looking brown are either in sunlight or in a detailing bay. Cloudy day I think it's got a brown tint...which I guess the OP does too because he asked the question !

POST 13Original post

Crayon is an odd one - and has never quite achieved the wider popularity it could have, if it was just a bit darker/stronger. In some markets it is called ‘Chalk’, and therein lies the problem - it’s a bit too pale, and in some light it looks almost white with a tint of grey or beige. In photos it can be edited to look darker - closer to Fashion Grey - but it really should have been done at the Factory, by the man in charge of the paint mixer.

No sunlight. Standard day. Still not the same as seeing one in the flesh.

Thanks All. V useful. And now - which wheel colour do most people think best - black, anthracite or silver? Thanks for all pics. Useful to see ‘normal’ pics rather than press shots

In the right light you can see a light bronze hue

I wonder if we see colours differently D, as I honestly have never thought this - to me, on the right size car , with black accents it’s one of the most stunning couloirs Porsche have done for ages. Not as nice as Abarth Campovolo Grey - but very close

Told her straight. I'm off for nine days on a jolly and she best put up and shut up.... . I came round about an hour later .... but even so I'm still going.

OK so that's three days to Gibraltar, ferry to Morocco, another day to Marrakesh, load the merchandise, and thrash back only stopping to buy a stuffed donkey and a sombrero... we can do that in nine days, and then we'll be millionaires!

I nearly bought a 991.1 GTS in Grigio Campovolo back in 2015/6 from OPC Edinburgh....it was really hard to see the colour on the video/stills they sent me so I bottled it. Regrets, I have a few..... And yes I do think people see colours differently.

POST 27Original post

Has anyone gone for a bold colour choice for wheels on a Crayon car? Aurum just doesn’t work with my wheels or should I play it safe and go with gloss black? The flat black currently on the car just does nothing for it.

POST 29Original post

Should have said mine is a 718 Cayman. I think the colour works really well, but the flat black wheels let it down.

I agree that wheel colour choice is difficult - I've got satin black, I'm not a fan of black wheels generally but I think it works on Crayon.

POST 33Original post

Satin black works well, especially with extra black accents like the door handles, and even better with yellow callipers behind.

POST 34Original post

How does Crayon compare to Sports Classic Grey (L63)? I've got that with satin black wheels and I think it looks pretty good.

Hows about this, 1968 Mustang GT 2+2 Fastback in Porsche Chalk (AKA Crayon)

POST 38Original post

I love Crayon and I hate Crayon The only colour that manages to look fabulous and crap at the same time. It would be cup at the top of my list for a Porsche. Black wheels preferred.

POST 39Original post

The above is another Crayon/black wheeled car (that was owned by a PH friend of mine).

POST 40Original post

Crayon works better on some models than others but I prefer it with satin platinum wheels!

Here is a little selection of various crayon pictures with black wheels (winter) and aurum (sommer) on my GT3 Touring. I prefer the lighter aurum colour for the wheels but wanted something different for the winter wheels hence the satin black. Edited by hornbaek on Thursday 19th May 17:20

This is interesting to see, all panels painted, sides, front spoiler slats and the rear diffuser. Aways wondered what that combo of options would look like. https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/13124806

Typical porsche charging a premium for a paint job thats not even finished properly, looks dreadful IMHO
