Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'Install a/c' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Install a/c' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Can anyone advice on how to get these pipes (part number or description) as I've search the net to no avail, also has anyone fitted these as to be honest it looks simple

Try a AC specialist - Porsche do not make the AC components and I suspect that providing you can get to either end of the pipe where it connects up it can be replaced with a 'similar' pipe.

Any decent garage should be able to repair the joint or leaking section.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Got the air conditioning topped up last week only to find a leak coming from one of two pipes under the car next to the driver's door, after ringing the local Porsche dealer I was told these pipes are for the air conditioning and was given a quote of £500 to fix.
So was going to try and get the parts myself and try a non Porsche dealer or even fit myself and get the system topped up again.
Can anyone advice on how to get these pipes (part number or description) as I've search the net to no avail, also has anyone fitted these as to be honest it looks simple
Thanks
Andy
I had the same thing last year. Just behind the drivers door under the car the pipe bends at a joint which was where mine was leaking. Any decent garage should be able to repair the joint or leaking section. Its unlikely the whole pipe actually needs replacing.
It is after all only a pipe just like you get on any car these days. There's nothing special about Porsche aircon pipes (or brake pipes for that matter) apart from the price!
Mine were done just last month. Leak was from round to rectangle section just under rear of drivers seat. I was quoted £400 to replace pipe run from condenser to this point and another £1700 to replace the joining pipe running into the engine compartment. Luckily my car was covered by OPC warranty and I got the job done for free (I had to fight for it though, see earlier warranty post). The front pipe run looked fairly straight forward to replace, but the rear one was an engine out job.

Don't know where you are but this place may be worth a call. These guys are experts and can source most parts. I called in when my 993 AC packed in thinking it was a straightforward job - it wasn't as it turned out to be the evaporator and in the end my Indy did it as they know how 993's come apar but parts and advice you cant go wrong :thumb:

Hi
I did this pipe myself and i purchased the pipe from porsche, I think it was aroung £85 inc VAT.
It depends on which one has gone to how easy it is ti fix.
1..They both join at the same place at the rear, just under the plastic under tray in front of the rear wheel and joins just behind the front wheel. This is the easy one and would take about 1 hour to fit..
2..The other again joins in the same place in the rear, but at the front it is a bit more tricky, It runs up inside the wheel arch.
You have to remove the wheel and the inner wheel arch, you can see where it goes. It is joined under the plastic covers in the boot.
With this one to get it free you need from memory to remove some sort of box thing which is two bolts and move the petrol filler nozzle aside. It is very fiddly and will take about 2-2.5 hours.
This pipe was the one i did and was £85 the other one should be a bit cheaper as it's a bit shorter.
Fingers crossed it the shorter one.
Cheers
Tim
i'm not really sure which pipe it is thats gone but was adviced to change both at the same time and then i know i'm not going to be doing the job again in in 6 months.
Tim do you know where you got the part from as i would be happy to fit it myself and save on the labour costs

Speak to Sam here at Alpinair
he has parts, off the shelf,
they are pretty much the parts as the OEM uses,
They are on the North Circular at Hanger Lane, very close to the Ace Cafe, but I'm sure he'll despatch mail order,
AND give you good advice wrt fitting them etc etc.
(He's retro fitted a/c to a 964 and a Merc I had).

They run very close to the front jacking point, so if someone has been clumsy with a trolley jack.........
This timing is great, I noticed my pipe was leaking in exactly the same position this last week. My approach was a bit more economical than others (take it or leave it). I bought some epoxy resin from halfords (sets in 10 mins) and sealed the pin hole, it passed a test in kwik fit and held a charge for a week until I sold it, see seperate post on why I sold the porker...
