Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

The car is so solidly built that I often can't hear the doors locking, and in Texas summer sunshine it's impossible to see the blinkers flash unless you're standing behind the car and staring at them, so I often find myself going back to the car to check the door handle before walking away.

Suggestion

I have the unit in my car, but never found the chirp to be useful as the car uses the honk to chirp -- which is very annoying to me.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

I know that if I lock our CS with a trunk/frunk/glovebox lid open, then it will chirp to indicate that the vehicle is not 100% secure. What I'm having trouble with is me not being 100% sure that the car is secure if I don't hear anything. The car is so solidly built that I often can't hear the doors locking, and in Texas summer sunshine it's impossible to see the blinkers flash unless you're standing behind the car and staring at them, so I often find myself going back to the car to check the door handle before walking away. Is is possible for the dealership to program some sort of audible acknowledgement into the system? Apparently the 981 chirps twice when it locks successfully, and while some 981 owners have expressed dislike for that feature and had their dealers dis able it, it sure seems like something that I'd like to have.

POST 2Original post

Jetkins, Mod4cars have a unit that allows you to program that. I have the unit in my car, but never found the chirp to be useful as the car uses the honk to chirp -- which is very annoying to me. I would be happy to have the chirp if it sounds like the sound on a BMW or something. This reminds me ... I should take out the unit and sell it, as I didn't find the functions that useful for me.

POST 3Original post

I asked the same question when I first got mine. You can try the glove box trick. http://www.planet-9.com/987-cayman-...ayman-boxster-service-tech/77529-reprogram-beep-chirp-when-locking-987-1-a.html

Have you noticed on almost all TV shows, every car has the same sound when locked, I want that sound.
