Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Afternoon guys... Just spent a cold morning cleaning and thoughti'd take the chance, with out snow or rain just cold fingers, to take a couple of pics and post them up. I have also take a couple of pics of the K&N induction kit... Was easy to fit apart from the one hole that just had not been drilled in the fixing plate. Of course i didn't notice this until the whole kit was in and i was securing...!!! ha ha ha... The roar after 4000rpm is astonishing, like a herd of charging wilder beast chasing me down the road..... ok maybe not... but it sounds great. No issues with just running on a day to day basis; just nice to have that bit of extra to blow the cobwebs away...

POST 6Original post

Nice. So you've really noticed an improvement to the sound after fitting the K&N? Did you spot any performance gains? What exhaust have you got? Have I asked too many questions?

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

To be honest Storm, i only had the car a week before dropping the K&N inplace, so not really had the time for comparission, but when chatting to the guys at Porscheshop, they did say that this mod would give a proven 23bhp increase at least. Currently got the standard exhaust, that will change..!! along with wheels and springs...!!

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Oh forgot to say got paint correction booked in for the 20th Feb, so there will be a load of more photo's, before's and afters....

POST 9Original post

Heh - no messing about! A week old and you're already modding it! Excellent. Any idea what exhaust system you're looking for? I'm also in the market, but I think I'm going to go down the back-box modification route. Perhaps we can try and negotiate some sort of group buy...

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'd be up for that.... I do have some good contacts who are specialist metal fabricators and have toyed with the idea of approaching them to see if they can carryout the mods on the back boxes for me... It's just the initial getting hold of a spare pair to trial... But if there are a few up for it we might be able to sort something...

POST 11Original post

Looking good. I'd be very surprised if you get even +5bhp from the induction kit, it's really a sound thing more than anything else, but then that's reason enough to fit it... :thumb:

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I was suprised at the 23bhp claim too, but prior to purchase checked out the K&N site for a bit of comfort and they reckon at least a 10% increase. Nice little dyno graph to back their claims (yeah i know about fudging dyno graphs).... But i have to say the engine bay looks a lot nicer having it in there and the noise is fantastic... good enough reason like you say... Maybe we should organise a group dyno day....!!!!

POST 13Original post

Looks good. Stupid question - the pink bit looks like an air filter (see - told you it was stupid). What is it made of? The louvres over the engine are hardly weatherproof, so isn't it going to get wet?

POST 14 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Harry, yeah the 'pink bit' is the air filter, but what is hard to see in the pics is that the filter now sits within it's own enclosure that is included. The filter is also treated too so water ingress is not an issue. My car is a daily runner, and with the rain and snow of the past couple of weeks it's not missed a beat. Ok it's only had 2 weeks under my ownership... ! The pic below is taken from the K&N web site...

POST 15Original post

Be very careful not to over-oil the K&N, as the MAF won't like it.
