Inspired by the tech article by darchildz I set out to install a set of these door laser lights on my 07 CS. Naively I assumed Porsche kept their door designs at least similar between gen 1 and 2. An alarm should have gone off when I saw in the tech article the addition of a power wire to the door to power this inexpensive piece of bling. So I charged forward and bought two sets (thinking for $11+ you only get one light). While I was waiting for my present from China to arrive, I re-read the article and became concerned that these lights wont fit my year of CS. That paranoia combined with the realization that my door lights are powered caused me to remove one and examine the housing. Indeed these will not work on gen1 CS. A hunt on eBay revealed ones that look very similar to the stock ones but are labeled for Panamera (09-14) not the CS, ignore this and just buy them. I usually don't gamble but for $25+ I thought it wont break the bank and I can always re-sell them on eBay. So here is my story on how to add these laser based Porsche crest broadcasting door lights to your gen 1 CS WITHOUT ANY VEHICLE DISASSEBLY OR MODS. Completely reversible.
The units plug right in but you need to do some assembly and make a wire jumper, no big deal.

You get a right and left side light and two film images with the Porsche crest
First step when you get them is to take them apart (be careful), use a small screw driver to pop the lens off of the housing
Next remove the film circle and place it on the lens of the laser can, use tweezers and make sure that the image is right reading as viewed from the outside. Position it so that the projected image on the ground will be facing you when the door opens. I did not trust the fit to be secure so I placed a very tiny dot of super glue at the top of the film circle to secure it to the lens.
While the glue is drying take a drive to Radio Shack and buy these two items to make the mini connector assembly.
Back to work! The small hobby wires (red) have the perfect socket for the leads coming out if the lights. The CS needs male spade plugs on the door socket, so get a pair of scissors and a soldering iron (plus fluxed solder wire). I simply cut off one of the gold plated pins on the strip of pins that came with the red wires. Solder the SHORT end of the pin to the crimp side of the spade connector and voila a spade pin on one end and a small square pin on the other. Finish the job with some shrink tubing after plugging the red wire into your mini adaptor.
Plug the other end of the red wire into the light and presto you are ready to plug this jewel into you CS and show it off to your friends and family (at night).
