Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 1 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a 2002 Carrera 4 Cab.. Tiptronic All is well and I love the car, performance is stunning as is the handling... I do have a small problem though, when i accelerate hard in any gear i get a loud clunk from the rear somewhere in the tunnel, I can feel it as well, like something hitting the body from underneath. If i pull away or accelarate gently, and feed the power in i dont get it. Would I be right in assuming I have an engine mount, or maybe a transmission mount about to fail or is this a normal sound? Any help and advice appreciated. I have my own bodyshop so I have access to a ramp and tools so if anybody can point me in the right direction Ill have a look.. otherwise its off to find a good Indy near Exeter regards Gary

POST 2Original post

I had the transmission mount on my Turbo wear-out. Although in this case it was a sudden clunk on hard acceleration... but more a really annoying vibration... like runnning over ripple strips... And it only happened under load on tight corners. Replaced the Transmission mount which was pretty simple and it instantly fixed it. So not sure if this is your problem, but thought I'd mention my syptoms. Cheers
