Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I left my keys in my colleagues car yesterday and didn't realize it until this morning. I have a spare key I haven't used in years with a broken remote but good key. The RFID chip is still in there as well. Usually when my remote is not working, I can put the key in the door, unlock it and start the car within 10 seconds and I would be on my way. Today, when I put the key in the ignition, the alarm didn't turn off. The car won't start either. I tried unlocking the car multiple times with the key, trying to disable the alarm and starting the car with no success. I couldn't even open the trunk with the switch in the door sill while the alarm was going off. I had to manually open the frunk with the cable and disconnected the battery hoping to reset everything. Every time i reattach the battery, the alarm continues. How do i disable my alarm and start my car?

POST 2Original post

Does the light flash on the key when you press a button?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My good key is in a friends car. my spare key doesn't have the remote module, it's broken.
