Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

The tire I had filled with air at the fuel stop was flat.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

So as I was driving last night I heard a weird noise all off a sudden, stopped right away and it ended up being the inner part of the driver side rear tire coming apart at about 125km/h. I peeled some of the long tire strip off by pulling it and cotinued to drive slowly to the hotel while its flapping away in the back. Drove very slow. Now I'm about to tackle my first Porsche spare tire change. Then drive on it back to Ottawa lol. sorry for mistakes I am on a BB
I've seen big rig tires (recapped) do this.
I've seen mostly big rig tires (but also utility trailers like boat or camper trailer tires) do this when the tire becomes underinflated and the low pressure, high load, and heat build up cause the tire to come apart.
Closest I came to having this happen was in my VW Golf Tdi with Cooper tires. Had what I suspected was a bad valve stem valve but didn't bother to take care of it. On I-40 stopped for fuel and checked tire pressure and found it low a bit. Added air til pressure right. Drove on. Many miles. Got tired and stopped at big rest stop on north side of I-40 just before (or just after I can't recall which one now) the OK/TX state line. After a nap just happened to think about tires. Got out of the car and walked around the car. The tire I had filled with air at the fuel stop was flat. And it had apparently been low for some time cause the tread was worn down to the belts on both the inner and outer edges of the tread face. Had I continued to drive the tire might very well have come apart if it dldn't suffer a blow out first.
Sincerely,
Macster.
What was the condition of that tire before your trip? Was it showing cords on the inside portion of the rear tire? (Typical for our negative camber suspensions).
You couldn't see any metal strings yet and I thought it was ok to drive... Even with the amount of wear I had on them, they should have not acted in this way...
I posted this thread twice by accident.. I'll be posting pics tomorrow in the other thread.
