Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suspected cause
It’s why I’d feel a bit uncomfortable about the 992.1’T’, which is a mildly modified base 992.1, if the 992.2 is due to follow so soon.
Leading evidence: 'follow' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'follow' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace too' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Is it fair to expect that with the intro of 992.2 C2 model, the flat-six 385 PS motor will be phased out and replaced with the 450 PS motor from 992 C2S?

My base model runs at 506bhp and some run theirs at 600bhp.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Porsche is well known for incremental improvements of their cars in general and their motors in particular.
Is it fair to expect that with the intro of 992.2 C2 model, the flat-six 385 PS motor will be phased out and replaced with the 450 PS motor from 992 C2S? Or should we expect something like 400 PS motor in the 992.2 base model?
I realize it’s all speculation at this stage, but we see the end of 992 cycle, with ‘cool derivatives’ flushing out the current inventory of parts, e.g. 992 Carrera T has 385 PS with M/T, shorter final drive and a list of desirable options as standard fit, except for BOSE which is in short supply.
If this theory holds, the 992.2 C2S could get the 480 PS motor from 992 GTS, which would be amazing. And rumor has it that 992.2 Turbo S will have a hybrid 700-800 PS. It kind of stacks-up.
What is your view? What can we expect in 992.2 motor line-up?
Personally I don't think you'll find any change in engine performance in the .2 variants. Normally a mid life upgrade is all about a refresh of bumpers and infotainment along with the introduction of some new options such as paint or alloy wheels. There are some spy photos kicking about that the .2 will have a fully digital instrument binnacle so removing the analogue rev counter.
Changes to the engine will most probably come in the 992 replacement which will most probably have some type of hybrid drivetrain.

There were engine changes in the 997 and 991 so wouldn’t rule it out at all? Quite major changes too!

Porsche always stagger the 911 development as Joscal says, new body then new power plant at the facelift.
I thought the whole idea of the 992 body was that the 992.2 would introduce the mild hybrid power trains.
Porsche’s formulaic process is to be always improving their products to keep the marketing fluid and customers hungry.
.2 variants normally include a range of improvements and upgrades, inc the engine.
It’s why I’d feel a bit uncomfortable about the 992.1’T’, which is a mildly modified base 992.1, if the 992.2 is due to follow so soon.

This is not correct. When there are major drive train changes then Porsche do this at the facelift stage, the 991.2 getting turbos is the perfect example. Expect the 999.2 to see the start of the hybrid 911. Maybe not the base models, but the turbos definitely.

The engine in the 992 is largely the same as in the 991.2 and the different models show how much scope there is with this engine. My base model runs at 506bhp and some run theirs at 600bhp.
Interesting insights, thanks all. So we should see some improvement, but probably not as big a step as 385 PS to 450 PS.
With electronic witchcraft there are endless permutations… I would like to see more consistent steps in power-to-weight ratio from C2 — C2S — GTS — Turbo derivatives.

As I said above, it'll be hybrid power in the 992.2-the whole body shell has been developed for it as has the current gearbox.
I believe, we will see petrol and hybrid derivatives, not just hybrid.
I want petrol car and EV SUV. Hybrid in my view is a compromise to please regulators.

The only 911 not confirmed to be hybrid at the next update is the GT3. All Carreras and the Turbo models will be hybrid.

You wouldn't expect a whle new engine, but you would expect more power. Probably 400PS for the base model, if previous .2 updates are indicative.

Exactly.
With the 997.2, it got a totally new engine and also introduced PDK. It is in fact on facelift models where they have historically made the biggest powertrain changes.

Have you read an official release? Or is it your opinion?
I hope I can have the last fossil-fuel artifact.
