Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

When I mentioned the reason they said they had never needed to clean a throttle body before for this reason and suggested putting the code reader on the car first.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Idling revs on my car have started to occasionally drop suddenly then catch again. Today it actually stalled as I was in reverse with the clutch fully depressed. Experience of other cars would have me think 'Idle Control Valve' or some such. Does that apply here possibly?
It doesn't have an idle control valve. The first thing to do would be to clean the throttle body with some carb cleaner. They can get a bit black and sooty inside, and it makes the butterfly a bit sticky at the closing position.
I don't know of a DIY guide I'm afraid. Maybe a seach on Rennlist or 6Speedonline might show something. It's a piece of cake on a N/A car, but the Turbo is a lot more aggro. You have to take off the air cleaner, boost pipes and intake manifold to get to the throttle body. Once you get there, you can hold the butterfly open and spray/wipe around to remove the deposits.
Decided I will get Autosrtasse do this for me. When I mentioned the reason they said they had never needed to clean a throttle body before for this reason and suggested putting the code reader on the car first. If it isn't the throttle body being choked up then why else might the car exhibit these symptoms? (They wouldn't express an opinion).

it was my first time filling a Porsche !
Would this stuff be appropriate? I already have a torq driver that will remove the maf.
