Drone isn't terrible and for this price compared to a new or even used exhaust system, I think I came out on top.

So I decided to go to a local muffler shop and see how much damage I could do with $100. I got rid of the rear mufflers (and secondary cats inside them) and replaced with a good ol' straight pipe. In my opinion it sounds great and could not be happier. Drone isn't terrible and for this price compared to a new or even used exhaust system, I think I came out on top. We will see in the coming days how this is on the highway but around town the sound is just right for me, and when I get on it...Oh man does it make me smile. Also an added benefit of weight reduction from those damn mufflers, must weight 20lbs each with the cats inside. Still have primary cats so I don’t foresee an issue. Also no emissions where my car is garaged.

My '05 Boxster S is almost straight-piped - after cats it's just a little Magnaflow cherrybomb out the back. When I get on it through the canyons it sounds great, almost like a race car. However it drones terribly between 2500 and 3000 RPM. I am replacing it with Soul Performance exhaust and long-tube catless headers. Hopefully the O2 spacers will keep the CEL away. That should allow it to pass CA smog.

Yeah Billstein for every car brand is on back order for a few months. Have been since May, you won’t be getting those for another month or two... I think they picked up a new manufacturing plant and can’t set it up quickly enough
