Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

14 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

This button (middle one) looks like a rear defrost button but I have a plastic rear window (2001) so I'm not sure what it is for.

POST 2Original post

It is for your rear window defrost when you upgrade to the glass window top. They conveniently installed it for you. It is originally there for the hard top rear window option (glass)

POST 4Original post

Ejection seat. Mine has that option. Been very tempted but never tried it yet.

It is like the one in Seymour Goldfarb (son of Seymour Goldfarb and heir to the Goldfarb girdle fortune) Jr's car; never works when you want it to.

POST 8Original post

Actually this is the Ejection seat option button If you peel the sticker off, it may reveal this option: or my favorite for evasion and getting rid of tailgaters.

So this is the button that grenades the AOS then? :-)

POST 10Original post

There are lots of owners manuals for sale on eBay.

POST 11Original post

The guy who had the car before me, wired the de-mist switch up to operate the on board computer. It's sort of handy and I don't think I'll ever need the de-mist option.

I appreciate your input. I can place an order on eBay today, wait 3-7 days for my manual to arrive and then look up what that button is for. That seems like a WAY better solution than to ask a whole bunch of Boxster enthusiasts! Sorry if you felt I wasted your time.

Don't worry about wasting anyone's time on the forum. By definition you are not. Sometimes folks make a comment they shouldn't have. I sure am glad I have never done that.
