Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Hi there, I'm looking at a "R" reg '98 996 carrera 2 which suffered IMS failure in 2011 and had it replaced by a specialist independent dealer. The part number on the invoice is 996 105 901 00' abit of searching appears to show that this is a duel row IMS genuine part. Can anyone tell me is this part is likely to be more reliable than the part originally fitted to the engine in '98. Would it be up to standered against the modified non genuine parts now available through popular specialists? Thanks for any opinions and input. Kind regards.
