Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

These LEDs bulbs are FAR brighter than the stock halogens, no question. link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LCE19N4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 LED Spars only: LED Head lights: (H7)

POST 2Original post

I think you need to adjust the beam, it is lighting above your garage door.

POST 3Original post

car is pointing up, my drive way has 7 degree slope.. of course real test will be tomorrow morning when I drive to work..

POST 4Original post

i had Turbo LEDs and they were too dim compared to stock halogen. Waiting to hear your long term impressions.

POST 5Original post

I still haven't driven in dark conditions. Forgot how much brighter it is now at 6:30 (when I leave for work) Will drive tonight and report back.

POST 6Original post

I'd be interested if they were 5000K instead of 6000K. That's too blue and will stand-out as aftermarket. Seems like these manufacturers are targeting the rice crowd. BTW, the higher the color temp, the less effective the light is AFA the human eye's sensitivity.

POST 8Original post

Thank you for your enlightening input regarding "rice crowd".. Although I continue to see "blue" color heard lamps on Audis, BMWs, Mercs and every other brand, people like yourself continue to use a misnomer that was prob true several years ago.. I would also prefer something closet to 5000K but these aren't nearly as bad I expected 6000K to be.. but to each his own, I am not getting a commission off of this, you dont like it, dont buy it

POST 9Original post

I do have a bulb out message due to my LED Spars, I have not seen anything regarding Head light bulb

POST 10Original post

does anyone know if you can get these sent to the UK from another source?

POST 11Original post

Update: - Still no bulb out message - After a few miles of night driving I can catagorically say the lights are Far brighter than my stock Halogens, no question. Are they as bright as a Bi-Xenon System, probably not. but I have to remind myself that I spent less than $70 for both bulbs and the brightness is a huge improvement over my crappy halogen bulbs (stock) As far as looks go, the "color" is almost exactly the same as the LED Spars. Each compliment the other now, which is a plus.

POST 12Original post

I never liked the blue=rice crowd. I find the term "rice crowd" to be extremely racist. And I find a connection between a blue-tinted headlight and a certain type of driver to be foolish and prejudicial. For what it's worth, your LEDs look good!

POST 13Original post

Oh get off your soapbox. Ricer, rice racer, rice rocket.... has nothing to do with the ethnicity of the driver. So it can't be racist. It comes from the Asian origin of the cars. Rice car Of course, any car can be "riced" using the same ingredients. BMWs, Mercedes, Porsches, Audis....At night - all glaring blue headlights look alike. Pimped rides are pimped rides.

POST 14Original post

Anyway..... The 6k are just a tad too blue for me. Not necessarily the light cast but when looking at them head on I see the tint. I'd like to find 5ks that have some long-term reviews or find someone with 4500s that I could look at in person. Literally anything is better than stock halogen bulbs though.

POST 15Original post

I do most of my driving at night. How is the projection of the light down the road? I can't upgrade to HID, as I don't have self levelling or washers that are required to meet regulations here in Australia. Looking into LED's, as I like them on my BMW. Did you get any comparison photo's of Halogens, vs LED's? Cheers, Ken

POST 16Original post

For me, I see a HUGE difference when compared to halogen.. I am tempted to upgrade to an H9 LED also (high beam)

POST 17Original post

Can you post a head on pic, and one of the cutoff against a wall? My MCS has halogens and I've been contemplating the LED upgrade.

POST 18Original post

best I can do... will try again with real camera tomorrow

POST 19Original post

$70 for the 2 LED bulbs is a good deal considering the igniter, bulb, and ballast of xenon system are very expensive to replace.

POST 20Original post

Another satisfied customer here I re-leveled my headlights and installed these yesterday. These bulbs are a touch too blueish to be ideal, but the difference from the stock halogens is astounding. side note: does anyone know what the extra two bulbs can be used for?

POST 22Original post

I installed 6000k 60 Watts H11 Auxbeam F-16 LEDs which produce 6000 lumen flux for both in my ditch lights. These are used during the day and at night and they closely match the color of my Bi-Xenon lights. These outperform the bar lights that are popular. These actually work to light up the area under the headlights. I can use them in an emergency, if my main lights fail. Again, mine are pointed slightly down and are only about 18 inches above the road. Looking from the front, they are not just eye candy, you know the cat eyes around BMW lights, eye brows on Audi, light bars on Porsches, the question is do they light up the ditch and ground in front of the car enough so you can dodge the pot hole going 50 miles per hour in a rain storm. These lights do not flicker or cause a fault code. Ok, maybe 5000 K would match the Bi-Xenon light exactly, but its pretty close.

POST 23Original post

Ordered a set of the H7 and H11 for the high beam. Made such a difference to driving down the country lanes at night, plus a good match for the LED spares. For the cash, they're pretty good!

POST 24Original post

Back when I had my 08 CS with Halogens (3 subsequent Caymans all have been PDLS..) I put in Osram 65W on 55W base. I ran them for 3 years with a lot of night driving during that time. They provided a nice white light, reached out further, considerably brighter and broader pattern. Not even sure if these are available any longer (from Stern) but it was a very reasonable option at the time.

POST 25Original post

I know this is an old thread, but only one out there specific to the hikari, i just installed the h7 to my 987.1 but they seem to flicker on the passenger side at the beginning, then go away after some time. anyone experiencing this or know if there is a solution?
