Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Clarkson described it as such in his Cayman S review, half way down here:

Not keen on the current Sapphire Blue, but as I'm looking for a 2013-ish car Aqua does come up. Not seen one in the flesh though, so those that have may be able to comment?
Otherwise I'm after a Cayman in Guards Red, or one of the Silvers (probably not Platinum). A blue Porsche doesn't really seem "correct"?
Aqua blue was a fabulous colour as was cobalt blue that preceded it. Sapphire looks quite watery when seem next to either of these colours. We had 2006 Boxster S in cobalt and then a Cayman S and Carrera S in aqua. Just felt like. A change from blue this time round hence our current Boxster GTS in Carrara white. Here's a photo of our cobalt Boxster, the car we have more affection for than all the others!

Is Aqua Blue the best colour seen on any car?
Yes! The end...
My M3 and my mate's C2S halfway up Umbrail Pass during our Alpine Road trip in August...
And how it looks when clean:
I'm a fan of these metallic blues, but my subjective view is that Sapphire is nicer than Aqua, which is nicer than Cobalt.
I have a Le Mans Blue M3 saloon and I used to have a Coral Blue VX220 Turbo!
Any bold blue looks good to me, and they're all better than boring monochrome greys of varying shades IMHO. I drive past some forecourts these days and all I see is a line of dull grey cars of varying shades. Sometimes they get brave and have a completely white or completely black car in amongst them, but certainly nothing as racey as a blue!

Gratuitous Aqua Blue photo!
That IS fabulous. Sapphire is OK but I prefer Aqua's more inky blue. Anyone have some good shots of an Aqua 981 Cayman?

Well, I have a blue one, even though it wasnt my preference.....
I had both Aqua and Voodoo.. Obviously very different blues but equally stunning.
Aqua is deep and changes a lot in the shade and sun.. and has a depth which is phenomenal and that the colour which replaced it simply lacks (Sapphire I think they called it).
Voodoo is obviously just special.. but would work on my GT3 not sure on a vanilla model to be frank. On a Vanilla model I would go Aqua again. Really stunning. Somehow thinks it works best on the 991 than the 997.. GT3 .2 RS aside
where with the gold stripes it was just magnificent.

Wasn't going to do this, but..............
Same wheels as the one I'm looking at too. I'd prefer Carrera S wheels, but it still looks pretty fantastic!
Have gone for a 2013 Aqua Blue 2.7 PDK with the same Classic 20" wheels as the photo above.
What swayed it was remembering a 987 Cayman I'd looked at a couple of years ago and thinking this too was Aqua. So I drove over to a dealer with an Aqua 911 for sale today and, yes, it's the same colour I recalled. So the deal is going ahead. Some other spec:
981 Cayman 2.7 PDK
Sports Chrono + DTM
PSE
PCM
Sport Design wheel
Black Partial leather Sport Seats
Bluetooth
Cruise
Heated Seats
Rear Park Assist
That's the basic spec. Collect in about a week, after 111 point check at OPC.
