Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am looking at upgrading the ARB's on my C2. I am looking at Eibach and H&R. Eibach are 27mm front with 2 adjustable points, rear are 19mm with 3 adjustable points. H&R are 26mm front not adjustable, rear 23mm with 3 adjustable points. A bit of a difference between brands, however what I would like to know is does anyone know the OE specs for each model ( incl. GT3 ) and for mo30? Thanks in advance.

POST 2Original post

I strongly recommend buying a copy of the Adrian Streather book. It if full of useful information. MC

POST 3Original post

I have MO30 anti-roll bars and I wanted to upgrade to adjustable. Given they are hollow, I took my rear one to a local engineering firm and got them to heat the ends(just the very end, avoiding being careful not to heat treat the bits that do the work) and got them squashed flat for another inch or so in from where they are squashed flat as standard. I then took it home and drilled new 10mm holes in the flat portion to give myself a range of options. The new holes inboard of the standard ones are effectively offering a stiffer roll setting. This was with a stock 18.5(measured as 19mm with vernier calipers) roll bar, so the total cost was £20, which was for the engineering shop's time. The front of my car is way too stiff in roll so I don't think going with a stiffer anti-roll bar at the front would gain anything, however you may have a set-up or driving preferences that mean that a stiff front end is useful to you. You should also be wary that a side-effect of a very stiff anti-roll bar is that unless you have very stiff dampers, when the outside wheel hits a pothole when cornering, it picks up the inside wheel too, which can skip the front of the car a couple of feet further out in the corner. I know this from experience. Super-stiff anti-roll bars are for smooth roads rather than real-life British roads.
