I just completed a two day DE at LRP and have noticed now have oil drips under my car. The oil is dripping from the rear end of the flat panel just adhead of the engine. I'm bring it into the dealership tomorrow for a quick inspection. The gauage hasn't really gone down any so I'm not loosing much, must enough to make a mess on the floor.
I had several goods runs and stayed off the rev limiter. Anyone else have this problem?
Ugh, sorry to hear about this. When was the last time you had an oil change and who did the work? Hopefully it is something simple like a misthread drain bolt.

Are you sure it's oil? The recurrent theme here is power steering fluid leaking. Stopping this syndrome is what the accessory underdrive pulleys are for, and they give you some more HP as a bonus.
When i took my car in for its 20k mile service last Spring (its 4th oil change since new), they found a leak in the cam tower cover in the drivers' side. There's been a few mentions of oil leaks... so it's not unheard of... if that's what it is, it's an easy fix... under warranty.
bad
It could also just be melted cosmoline. The dealer should be able to sort it out.
I thought I had an oil leak but it was hydraulic fluid mixed with melted cosmoline from another bad clutch slave cylinder.
I do my own oil changes and this leak if from the front of the motor, no where near the filter or drain plug. The drips look like motor oild so I'm gong with that. The dealership is taking it in next Tuesday and I'll them check a few other small complaint at the same time.
I decided to change the oil today, and found the same leak you did. Pulled the rear under panel section, and confirmed. It looks to be coming from the oil pump area, the oil piston bolt "17mm" had oil drops, made sure it was tight too. The under panel has a nice 8x12 area where it showed sings of oil as well.
I'm thinking at this point that the washer used on that 17mm bolt may be the culprit. As for the cosmoline, the oil seams to have been there long enough to have melted it somewhat, because it smeared off when I touched it. I've used WD40 to clean cosmoline before, I suppose oil may do the same if left there long enough. But I'm not 100% sure what I'm seeing isn't just cosmoline, because I know the oil running through that area is hotter than the coolant line beside it which has intact cosmoline.
I went ahead and cleaned the area and will keep my eye on it over the next few miles. Car only has 11k miles, so I'm sure if it is a leak vs cosmoline the evidence of it will return for the dealer to fix under warranty.
Could take pix if anyone wants to see, or share opinion's.
I took my car in for the final inspection before warranty ends.
They reported that the left cam cover was leaking oil.
The car has a little over 15,000 miles.
What is involved in the replacement of these parts.
Looks like something for the "sticky list" of things to have checked as your warranty expires.
Well since Jayman's post started in Nov 09; I guess he's been to the dealer but hasn't shared the results with us - too bad.
My car also has some type of "oil leak" on the bottom of the engine. When my buddy pointed it out I nearly sh$t myself. I'm taking mine into the dealer to get it checked out with a bunch of other problems. I am praying it's under warranty. Should I be worried about this? I'll post some pictures this weekend. I want to get this problem taken care of before my warranty expires in mid-April.
Looking at my repair invoice they dropped the engine and realigned the wheels.
Seems like alot of repair for a 15,000 mile car
