As far as the site that have tested the Jammers, I kave the address on my office PC so I'll post it here on Monday.

Radar detectors are absolutly ZERO use for laser I mean it will only go off when its pointed at you and they pull the trigger.

I intend to buy two laser jammers (LRC-100 / lIDATEK LE-20) One for the front and one for the rear.
My 01 996 has standard bodywork (ie no aerokit).
Anyone already done this ? Where and how have you fitted the jammers - Any advice gratefully received.

There seem to be two mounting places at the rear; bracketed directly off the engine or bracketed off the underside of the rear valance/bumper.
Unfortunately both places get a bit hot. Waiting for manufacturer to give me operating temperature specifications.
The front jammer seems relatively straightforward. Am mounting underneath the front lip, 10 cm back, nestling within a cutout area. Wires feed up through the cutout into the boot area. No holes needed.

No they don't work, the best defense is a good radar detector that detects instant on laser. I think the latest best of breed is the escort 8500.

They do work.....oh yes most surely do.....I was in my friends Scooby with one fitted when we went past a cop at about 120 in a 60 zone pointing a gun at us....laser jammer started buzzing as did his radar / laser detector and no blue lights....so I assume it jamed him.
Independant tests back this up I'll dig up the UK site that does independant testing.

Sorry I don't have any first-hand knowledge of jammers.
I do have a Snooper S5 which is supposed to detect laser but - try as I may - I have never detected anything in UK. Maybe I'm just lucky to be wherever the cops are not.
I did pick up a laser trap in Italy but since I was crawling along in traffic at the time, it wasn't very relevant!

Paul I'm also interested in why you came to choose those specific jammers and wondered if you've also got a detector. I'm considering both at the moment and am leaning towards the Valentine V1 and the Snooper SLD920 (think that's the model).
Also are Jammers definately illegal or is it still a 'grey area'. <img src="graemlins/icon107.gif" border="0" alt="[icon107]" />
I chose the LRC-100 jammers for two reasons; I've had an le-850 on my merc for 9 months now and it's saved me on more than a few occasions. The LRC-100 is simply the latest model. Also, it gets a great review on <a href="http://www.ukspeedtraps.co.uk" target="_blank">www.ukspeedtraps.co.uk</a>

I have the front one temporarily mounted under the front bodywork until I get time to mount it inside the front valance a few inches under the nr plate. I'll have to cut a small slit(15mm*30mm) in the matt-black plastic which covers the central area.
I am thinking of fitting the rear one into the hi-level brake light. But, this is partly obscured when the spoiler lifts.
Am hoping to get this location tested as well as the front one later today. Will post my results.
In addition to the two jammers I have a geodesy device which I've had for 18 months now - never let me down on camera locations. I also have a Bel 550 detector which is really belt & braces.
