Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Hey guys, I just bought a used 2010 base 987-2 cayman PDK a couple weeks ago. Today after work, as I shifted the gear to D, I sensed hesitation in the gearbox and the car was quite reluctant to move forward. Subsequently, I engaged R, gave it some gas but the car didnt move at all. I put it in P and restarted the engine and the car drove normally the entire journey back home. I was wondering if this a sign of the PDK dying or is it some sensors that have gone cranky. Many thanks!

POST 2Original post

dont panic yet but get a diagnostics check done to see the fault codes if any. this will help narrow down any concern areas. a few weeks back a dirty sensor cased a whole bunch of codes to pop up on my car.

POST 3Original post

Was it raining today? It's common (and normal) for the brake rotors to get a thin patina of rust during wet weather, which causes hesitation when first moving (can need quite a bit of gas), and sometimes an audible pop when the pads break loose. It's usually worse if you get the rotors wet when the brakes are cold, like if you wash a car without driving it a bit to clear the water off the rotors.

POST 4Original post

Thanks all for your kind replies. Another thing to note that there wasn't any warning messages when this occurred. Also the rotors were not wet as it was in a sheltered car park.
