Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

You'll need to get it fixed up by the service department.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

...even if the car itself is locked? Sorry, if this is a dumb question but it bothers the hell outta me that anyone can open the gascap just like that even if the car is locked

POST 2Original post

Are you talking about the gas cap cover and not the actual gas cap? The lid should lock up when door is locked. You'll need to get it fixed up by the service department. Sounds like either the switch or solenoid motor not working. Regards. Mike

POST 3Original post

Sounds like it's time for a dealer visit. The lid should lock when the car is locked.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks guys. I was referring to the lid even though I kept calling the gascap. The car just came back from a service visit because I saw some fluid discoloration at the bottom of the engine block and immediately thought oil leak but the service manager said it was just some compound that they put on the cars when they ship them across the ocean to prevent the salt air from getting to the engine! Guess, I gotta go back again Thanks for your help
