Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have bought front and rear brake kits and there are three sets of anti vibration dampers. 996 351 108 801 for the fronts 996 352 208 601 [28mm] & 964 352 096 600 [30mm]. These are listed in the PET catalogue but the diagram doesn't show where they go. Assuming they are the right ones, which set goes where? I don't want to strip the brakes and find they are the wrong ones. TB

POST 2Original post

the dampers sit in the piston on the caliper itself the front you really cant get wrong at all as one piston hole is bigger than the other and this also applies to the rear caliper so you shouldnt be able to get them wrong as it should take a slight bit of pressure to get it into the piston on the rear ... you need 1 of each (28mm and 30mm) for each pad at the rear

POST 3Original post

..........leave the sticky back paper on the anti vibes until you've clipped them into the calipers, then peel it off and fit the pads....it's a bit of a faff trying to slide the pads passed the now sticky shims, but once in the pedal pressure will glue them tight to the brake pads.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Excellent guys, thanks for the tips :thumb: TB
