Winter wheels on, summer wheels cleaned ready for hibernation, nice job out of the way, one I should have done weeks ago really before road salting started.

I have noticed you changed your exhaust tip in the last picture to twin tips.

They are actually different, again, as the car has a 3rd set of tips as I replaced the split rear backboxes with an aftermarket system.

Used a blowtorch, warmed for a good few minutes, carefully, and used a breaker bar.

eBay is where I got the double exit, it’s actually off a cayman - a kind fellow rear ended me, and the repairing garage took the p^$$ and replaced the bumper, all heat shields and exhaust tips, all at 3rd party insurances cost, so I have a virtually new Boxster dual tip available...

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Question: How many Boxster/Cayman picture threads is too many?
Answer: There can never be too many....
Poor light conditions, but showing the new winter wheel/tyre combo I just put together.

This picture has been contaminated by a non-Porsche
You are of course correct. I will await the next sunny solar sojourn, get the tripod out with the real camera (as opposed to iphone), and remove any other lumps of german metal from the composition....
Pictures? Oh go on then...

I love this car, I wanted a red R but have never seen one come up for sale 2nd hand.
I've never seen another red one, although there are a few listed on the register here. I liked the idea of a red / black colour scheme inside and out. I've put a red Alcantara GT2 RS gear knob on it too, which suits the theme nicely :-)
Here she is with a friend.
Glad I got there first
Here is the original text for the advert

This was back in 2008, car was less than a year old and first road trip to the alps. Snow chains were awesome, rolling into ski resort in a white Cayman with all the 4x4s was epic.
Still got the car and love it, it’s a keeper for sure.
Changing headlights to euro spec before the trip.
Choosing a white car back in 2007 was pretty radical, any more gen 1’s in white out there??

This is my relatively recent purchase. I had a 987 five years ago, sold it to scratch the 911 itch, missed it so much I decided this year to get another one. I still have the 911 but it hardly gets driven now. The Boxster is much much more fun. This is the car after I spent a week giving it a full paint correction.

I sure did! They are actually different, again, as the car has a 3rd set of tips as I replaced the split rear backboxes with an aftermarket system.
It wasn’t difficult, it just involved a lot of heat the first time (from single exit to twin as seen in pics). Used a blowtorch, warmed for a good few minutes, carefully, and used a breaker bar.

Thanks for the info. I would be interested in your available Boxster dual tip.
There really are some great pictures on here, beautiful cars.
It’s funny moving onto a Porsche after having TVR’s for years.
The TVR forum is always, (apart from now the quiet Christmas period) full of people doing engine mods, engine swaps for bigger engines, body off, chassis upgrades, brake upgrades you name it, it’s there.
The complete opposite to the Porsche forum, I do miss it!
Done many happy miles across Europe in mine..I sold the car a few years back and knew I'd made a mistake, got very very lucky and was able to buy it back a year later after spotting it by chance in a poorly written advert but with only a few hundred miles added since I sold it,now the one car I'll never sell.

Feel the same.
Although sometimes a pain in the arse, I do miss always having something “to do” on the car and planning the next round of improvements. The US Porsche forums are much more interesting in this respect.
Very different ownership expectations and prospects though.
Treated myself for Christmas with a first dip into Porsche ownership. Have been looking at 986/987 Boxsters for the last month or so, finally pulled the trigger on this 987 via a local Porsche specialist. Picked it up just this morning, looking forward to getting to know it better and sunnier days.
Porsche’s are a more complete item, there is no doubt. I love my Boxster for roadwork and for track work. Apart from fitting track pads and a more applicable oil for tracks, I haven’t had to do anything else. I love a fiddle in the garage and do miss TVR‘s for that very reason.
Luckily, I have a track day Octy vRS. I have been modifying that steadily over the last year from performance, handling and braking. I really enjoy the modifying in the garage but I still get the best feeling on track with the Porsche. Even so, I still really enjoy track days with the Skoda considering all the modifications it has so far cost me little more than £3.5K, makes it a really cheap enjoyable alternative.
