Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Alternatively, quite a few years back when I had a 205 1.9GTI I used a product called 10k Boost which you sprayed into the air intake after the maf keeping the revs at 2-3k, to de-coke/carbon the throttle body etc. This worked on my Audi TT as well before finally replacing the maf.
Leading evidence: 'Combined work: Replace mass air flow sensor + Use product called 10k boost' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check literature' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

It is a while since I changed the TB on my brother's C4, but I recall it being very straightforward.

If you are going to spray it on the rubber inlet hose, best check the literature to say it is OK with rubber.

I want to clean the throttle body & T as the car is 10 yrs old with 60k, I've looked at the DIY on the pedrosgarage link but this is for a non egas Boxster, does anyone have DIY instructions for an egas "00 C4 to clean the throttle body, and if I'm taking it apart, are there any gaskets that will need replacing when I put it back together?

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Having just replaced the maf, I still feel the car isn't quite perfect, just feels a little reluctant rather than eager and after a quick country road drive on Thursday there seemed to be a couple of flat spots and it then stalled when I came to a halt. It started fine and has been ok since but not perfect. No fault codes on the OBDII but it HAS felt like a couple of misfires.
There seems to a little moist oil on the inner jubilee clamps on the T behind the throttle body, suggesting there may be a little oil gathering in the rubber sleeve before it enters the plenums. Should I trust this on a Porsche or is that a bit dodgy??
Thanks Steve
Not round to the T rubber sleeves which is where I suspect there is a small build up of oil etc, plus I'd like to get the throttle body and pipes all spanking,
no jokes about throttling my pipe and spanking bodies please chaps
If you have wet oil in the throttle body it might indicate the air/oil separator is on the way out. If it is black sooty deposits it is nothing to worry about and just needs a good clean with carb cleaner. It is a while since I changed the TB on my brother's C4, but I recall it being very straightforward. Definitely get a new sealing ring though. Part number 997.110.319.00 @ £4.64+VAT
Excellent, thanks Richard that's what I wanted to know, I just didn't want to strip it down tomorrow to find that i needed a gasket or something to put it together. The throttle body is just a bit sooty, it's just the jubilee clips that are a bit mucky so I want to get inside the T and clean it up and see if it reappears. Any comment on using 10k Boost?
Sorry, I haven't used that product. If you are going to spray it on the rubber inlet hose, best check the literature to say it is OK with rubber. I would do what GT4 says, and spray some in and around the butterfly and wipe around with a rag. If the TB has a lot of carbon around the butterfly it doesn't seal properly and gives an erratic tickover.
