Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
my first choice would have been carrara white/blue but lapis has been a nice change from silver or white.
Leading evidence: 'Replace from silver or white' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace from silver or white' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

My first post here.
I have just ordered my first Porsche. Actually it is my second order as I had ordered an 03 BoxsterS but somehow convinced my wife that a Carrera was better as a family car (!!) for dropping kids off at weekend sports etc. I would have been happy with any Carrera but my wife fell in love with the "cute backside" of the C4S. I had a ride in an AS/BK tiptronic C4S and I was completely hooked. My dealer was very understanding to let me cancel the Boxster(of course, why not)and reorder.
My recommendation for colour selection for anyone is that you must see a car as opposed to a piece of paint to get the real feel of the colour. I was torn between M Blue and Basalt Black.
My order:
6 speed C4S
Midnight Blue
Black interior
Aluminium dials
Aluminium gear shift and handbrake lever
Steel door entry guards
Xenon Lights
Delivery March 03
I have spent the last 33 of my 48 years wanting a Porsche. The 996 is wonderful. The C4S is very sensuous in appearance (see my wife's comments above), feel, responsiveness and engine sound. Also those red brake calipers always remind me of a hint of red underwear left a little deliberately on show.....
Pictures to come next March. <img src="graemlins/yltype.gif" border="0" alt="[typing]" />
Personally I would order it in non-traditional color, wimbledon green say, and with a full leather cinnamon interior, like the one at:

congrats sandman. I dream of the day that I will place my first order. I too luv the C4S body it looks amazing. I believe the S models are the best looking porsches around. I am hoping they come out with a C2S next year and I may be writing a story similar to yours soon.
Can't wait too see it!
Sandman,
Congratulations on taking the plunge <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />
Now you get to endure the endless time until March when your "beauty" comes in. We will all be here to help you endure this time, as many helped me pass the time whilst I eagerly awaited the arrival of my first P-car. I can tell you now it is worth the wait!
I'll be posting pics of my new orient red/graphite gray C4S w/ advanced design package, advanced technic package, aluminum/leather gear/brake lever, headrest crests and supple leather as soon as the prints are finished (early next week!)
Welcome to the club! <img src="graemlins/drink.gif" border="0" alt="[cherrsagai]" />
congrats sandy!
did you consider lapis? it's a little brighter and easier to keep clean. <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" /> <img src="graemlins/drink.gif" border="0" alt="[cherrsagai]" />
Thanks Ignacio. I did seriously consider Lapis but 1) I really wanted a black interior which does not look too good with Lapis in my opinion and 2) when I saw a midnight blue TT with Black Int at the dealer, I felt it looked to be a colour that I will not tire of, better in direct sun than Lapis (which is a great colour too). Somehow I found the midnight to be more slightly more "reserved". <img src="graemlins/yltype.gif" border="0" alt="[typing]" />
sandy
i agree that midnite is more reserved. i'm not sure what i would have done if i had had the option. i bought an incoming car after someone backed out.
my first choice would have been carrara white/blue but lapis has been a nice change from silver or white. i'm sure you'll love your new ride! <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" /> <img src="graemlins/drink.gif" border="0" alt="[cherrsagai]" /> <img src="graemlins/jumper.gif" border="0" alt="[jumper]" />
Sandman,
Congrats on the order...I still dream of the day I will be able to walk into a dealer and pick up a new P Car (to date all my P Cars have been 2nd hand...pricing here in Singapore is shocking for new P-Cars, with a C4S going for around USD280k).
For me, it would be a 996 C4S in zanzibar red with black interior...now that would be wild.
Cheers
Harold
