I drive it 2 or 3 times a week for at least 30 miles each time, always warm it up and down and change the oil regularly.

A wise sage once said if you do anything to the car at least change the oil regularly so to ensure a long and happy life I have taken the short interval route.

I'm a firm beleiver that if you use often you are less likely to get the niggly things like flat batteries, odd electrical faults (MAF, Coils), sticky actuators etc...I do get through tyres at an alarming rate though!
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Just interested, and touching wood here for luck but apart from the obvious ware and tear the car seems pretty bomb proof. I do around 1200miles a month so she gets a regular long distance and spirited work out.
No breakdowns ( except my own stupidity with cracked coils and a pressure washer ( now resolved)
Any other single car owners out there with similar stories? reliability wise.

hi
had my car almost exactly 1 year and have done 8500 miles but that includes 2500 miles in a week last october with a driving holiday in scotland,
should do around 6000 this year
i am guessing i am on the low side of normal
cheers
Hi I do about 3500 per year, but it's only a 2nd car and mostly lives it life in the Garage.
However the car is now 6 years old and still only has 31000Miles on it so it has averaged only 5k a year all of it's life. :thumb:
Its interesting. Do people who are doing more miles experience more technical issue? or is the lack of a regular work out a contributory factor in gremlins and niggles?
25,000 kms 15,600 miles in three years. Now approaching 90,000kms. That has included two return trips to Portugal at around 5,000kms a pop. Most of the rest is to and from trackdays (some of which are between 500 and 1000kms round trip, plus the mileage on track). Car has been serviced three times and isn now due for another. Other than parts I have chosen to upgrade, she has only had service items plus brakes and tyres.

I do about 900 per month and recently have tried to lower my business mileage by using my partners car most of the time. Got in to the c4 after sitting there for a week and it was misfiring all the way to work, (only a couple of miles) thought it was a coil pack but then it cleared up when I refuelled so may have been weak/ shitty fuel as I was down to 6 litres, also my maf is getting tired so could be a factor. Anyway, I then drove it all last week and it was running perfectly, so i say....USE 'EM OR LOSE 'EM!!
Have done 1900 miles since Feb this year when I got her. Probably get less use between October and March next year. Think I'll average 2000-2500 miles a year from now on. Not sure on the best approach for winter storage as she stays in a garage with no mains power....
Totally agree with that. My GT2 has had very few problems in the years that I've owned it. I drive it 2 or 3 times a week for at least 30 miles each time, always warm it up and down and change the oil regularly.
I've recently bought a low mileage 2002 car (Clio 172) and it's pretty much had a different problem every other week since I picked it up. Apart from being French that's mainly a result of it standing around doing a few k a year.
If I was doing a few thousand miles a year I'd hire the cars or look at those super car clubs.
I have done around 27K in 2.5years. I have had some replacement parts, clutch & RMS,clutch pedal return spring, minor suspension bits, new steering rack recently and new coil packs at the last major service.

I consider all the above wear and tear, no break downs or DNF's!
