<div style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">Everything was arranged.I was to fly home from Detroit, get to my dealership by late afternoon for a test drive (on Friday the 13th, should have known better) in the Cayman S I ordered (99.99% sure I would like it, but it’s not a guarantee). My funds and insurance card are ready to be proffered in return for the car, title & plates, and then off I would go to begin a love affair.Instead, I encounter three cancelled flights, have to shift to a connecting flight, another cancellation, and the final leg homeis delayed (heavy fog in the NYC tri-state region, so can’t blame the airlines).Eleven hours later (normally two), I am home tired and frustrated.Tomorrow (rather today as it’s already past midnight) is launch day, but heavy rains and wind turning to snow is forecasted!Which Cayman basher put a curse on me?</div>

Well, I have both good news and bad. Saturday morning, my wife and I go to launch party. I test drive my ordered Cayman S, and decide to complete the purchase. Drive away from dealership in early afternoon to a round of applause from various salesmen and customers attending the party. I put on about 80 miles tooling around street and highway, gingerly as it is drizzling rain.
Now the bad nows. Two drivers nearly collide into me while driving this first day. The Sunday morning, we awake to learn that yes it did snow overnight, about 2 inches where we are, so the Cayman S will have to stay indoors. My wife then returns from fetching the morning paper that two large trees on our property were blown over: one blocks entry to our garage (can't get our cars out parked there, including the Cayman S), and another tree blocks one of our driveways! Oh, and much of lower Connecticut has a power blackout, including us. I am able to maneuver our SUV out from underthe car port, drive around the first downed tree by going onto our property, so my wife and I leave to visit my in-laws to clean up, warm up and eat. Luckily, we find wireless access, so I can at least read how others are faring with their experiences. Can it get any worse?
It sounds like you have the making of a good film ! As bad as things sound, it could have been worse..... the tree could have fallen on the Cayman and flattened it ! Let's hope things improve so you can enjoy your new purchase.
Oh, Schao what a story!!! Yes, it could have been worse, in fact, I'd say that you are really lucky given the events of the last few days.
Joy will come to you, I guarantee it. There is sunshine in your Cayman future!/fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/thumbsup.gif
Similar story: As my wife followed me home from the dealer, every wacko in Connecticut fires up their rusted outPlymouth and made honest attempts to bash the long awaited cayman. As we approached home, a huge 10 ton dump truckwith load cover flapping was struggling up a hill: I could just visualize a rock the size of a grapefruit landing on the hood... Awful. As they say, better days are coming... John
All those beautiful pictures of new Cayman S owners in sunny climes of So Cal and Florida! Well, for those of us in the northern states, let's not be shy, so here are my contributions. At least the trees blocking my driveway are clear ... just have to wait for the snow to melt now. Yours truly in still blacked-out lower CT.

Yes, both my wife and I like silver cars.
Driveway is snowed in and blocked by downed trees.
What are the odds of having TWO trees uprooted, and falling in parallel next to each other?
My Cayman S is ready to play, but the snow and downed trees are too much to overcome.
Opening the driveway, but now have to wait for the snow to melt.
