Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

20 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

In my Cayman day dreams I often think about all the options I passed on. It's a whole booklet after all, so you have to stop somewhere. So if you gave in and got 1 more, what would it be? For me it would beAdaptive seats. I want them, but almost $4000!

POST 2Original post

Chris, don't make me go back there again. I just got over second guessing myself. /fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/cry_smile.gif

POST 3Original post

PCCB would be the only option I would. Actually I went back tried to add it, but I was late by one day /fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/sad_smile.gif

POST 4Original post

I don't think about it like that. Like I held back and regret it somehow. The average price of the specs listed are only about half of what you could get the price to. Nobody posted a spec that really went 'all the way'. I thought it would be interesting to see where different people drew the line. Like me, $8200 for brakes was ok, but the seats and PCMwere too much! People are strange... FT probably got both of the those... Actually I was wrong above, with Full Leather I could have got Adaptives (P01L) for $2695. mmm...

POST 5Original post

I still have a month before need to confirm all options but its great to have read all your inputs. Its still tough and I seem to change my mind each and every day. All I know is that once I getgator, all the stars will once again be aligned

POST 6Original post

If I could choose one more option it would be PASM. At the time I placed the order, the Porsche Salesman convinced me that PASM was a waste of money unless I intended to track the car. However, after readiing various reviews from people with actual cars I now wished that I had selected it after all. I tried to change my order a couple of weeks ago, but the build date had been brought forward from January to TOMORROW !

POST 7Original post

I wanted the leather console and door finishers but they weren't available at the time and they weren't important enough for me to delay the car. After optioning out my car I sold a motorcycle and found myself with extra cash but there was nothing else I wanted to add. It confirmed I am getting the car just the way I want it and there wasn't 'one more option'.[/quote]

POST 8Original post

With unlimited funds I would add: PCCB Full Leather interior PCM - mainly for Sport Chrono Plus Auto-dimming mirrors But generally, I'm very happy - roll on the 1st of March!

POST 9Original post

Adaptive seats as well! I could have added the PCCB's but since I'm not sure how often I'll track the car I couldn't justify that for my 1st real sports car. I want to give it a spin and like everyone probably get my perfect car the 2nd time around.

POST 10Original post

Way too open of a question as I don't think the Cayman isa money-no-object car. There'sno way I would spec one past the mid-70's......as in two or three years a better one will be out and I'd rather keep the money for that event, and the next one, and the next one........I know where Porscheis going with this and it's only going to get better. If I hadsix months to live (and I do plan to live a lot longer) and could only enjoy one Cayman I would add PCCB, PCM, steering wheel controls, adaptive seats, more leather, and interior items painted exterior color. Probably a paint to sample also. Just didn't see the justification for any of the above on this car though. I still wouldn't go with PASM as I don't have a need for it in either mode and prefer the feel and ready for anything stock setup. Edited by - Atlas_Croc on 12/21/2005 06:13:29 AM

POST 11Original post

Hmm, I pretty much bought the list so not much left except PCCB and adaptive seats really. Between those two I'd probably opt for the seats.

POST 12Original post

Could I spec some of those show models to stand next to my car whenever I park it? /fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/teeth_smile.gif

POST 13Original post

I like it, two new options..... Exterior Model to Sample Interior Model to Sample

POST 14Original post

'Model to Sample'- I'm not sure that would get through the 'Dignity at Work' people.

POST 15Original post

Very funny Mr. C!!! /fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/wink_smile.gif

POST 16Original post

Chris - you have a beautifully optioned out car - and have most of my dream additions such as PCCB. Actually I didn't know the adaptive seats were that high. But I just figured anything that easy to change just encourages my lovely wife to drive the Porsche, which she can, just not too often. She prefers SUV's anyway. Manual seats for me! And any saved money goes into improving the rest of my options - for what I decide to afford.

POST 17Original post

Actually I did not /fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/regular_smile.gifI chose few what I would call essential ones, but like you mentioned, 'essential' is different for each person. I got PASM, sport steering, Preferred 1, chrono, manual sp. seats, Xenons, and that is it. It will certainly not be on any concours but willsee many track/autox events; hopefully /fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/thumbsup.gif

POST 18Original post

I would order the Limited Slip and the Motronic 7.8 chip from the pre-detuned 3.4-liter Cayman S.

POST 19Original post

Headers, Fre-Flow intake, Clear engine cover, ECU tuning, set of track wheels/tires, camera mount, 5 point harness, kompressor, oh and maybe a chrome exhaust tip... <hr />

POST 20Original post

I have quite a few options, and am not sure if I could add another at this point, but the one I find myself thinking about now it the Tire Pressure Monitoring System - anyone else still think they want this?
