Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

then there's a bunch of also ran types of oil, depends if you want to keep the vehicle, what you want to pay, etc, etc.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

When hot ie drive to London then when sitting in traffic. Nothing heavy just midday London stuff. At tick over the oil light comes on. !!
Blip the throttle and it goes out Any ideas
Water temp 80 >90 deg.
Oil level good
About 3 k since service. Has shell helix 0w40 oil
New ish car to me
Other stuff seams ok just this
Waiting for your thoughts
what's the vehicle mileage ? I'd say too thin an oil in a medium to high milage engine, try a thicker 5/40, should just about fill the gap in oil pump and keep pressure up, or even 10/50 and full synthetic
78 k on the clock with service history all the way
Was thinking that sort of thing what oil would you use
Have run all my race bikes. And tvr's on Morris oils love the stuff or would you recomend some thing else
Is there or can you fit oil coolers ?
...could well be the sender just gone a bit lame, with that mileage a 0/40 is too thin, go with 5/40 or 10/40 and what you'd like to afford and you really do get what you pay for, top of pile and by far best oil Motul, close second Silkolene both around £100 for 10L.
second best Mobil little over half that price and still very good. then there's a bunch of also ran types of oil, depends if you want to keep the vehicle, what you want to pay, etc, etc.
Just done mine today - put 8 litres in a fully drained engine (takes about 25 mins to fully drain a warm engine), then top up a little at a time until the electric guage on the dashboard reads full.
Oil pressure sender unit is easy to diagnose because the oil light will be accompanied by an complementary drop in oil pressure to 0 and then recovery a few seconds later.
Cannot agree with the "thicker oil" recommendation unless you never take your car out when its cold. I run mine in he winter at -5c or colder and you need 0W40 as a thick oil will not operate well at that temperature.
Drive it every day rain or shine
Will look at sender as well maybe take the sump off to
Don't think the last owner gave it much of a trashing. As brakes were well
