Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

This morning, I noticed a yellow stain about the size of a dime near the "tail" of the 996. If it was an insect, I can't find any trace of it. There isn't any organic residue at all but, all the same, the yellow has "seeped" into the Arctic Silver. Now how the hell do I get it out? I tried a little bit of bleach but that did nothing. What next? Ciao

POST 2Original post

Use a clay bar that can be found at any auto parts store. This will pull out any organic in the paint. Good Luck.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Won't I damage my finish by scrubbing it with a clay bar? No flames please but I haven't much experience in this regard.

POST 4Original post

I use the Griot's Garage products. The clay is very non-abrasive. You spray the area with this liquid called Speed Shine then rub the clay over it. That should get that yellow out. I had a yellow stain on my rear wheel well a few months back. It was from the yellow paint they use to mark the lines on the roads. Hope that helped.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thank you. I have just ordered the claybar/speedshine combo from Griot's Garage. Let's hope that does the trick. The yellow has almost become part of (seeped into) the paint at this point
