. The oil level light comes on when driving. When I stop and allow it to measure the level, the oil is at maximum level. Is this a sensor issue?
Maximum, or above the maximum line? Might be an overall issue.

Yes, the topmost bar is overfill. IDK if the warning indication is different for this. I suspect just says “Check engine oil level”.
The level is always at the maximum after the read-out. It could be it is overfilled. I may have to wait until I can change the oil myself. I know more oil in a motor is not good. Do you recommend that I change it sooner rather than in about month?
Full is to the top of the segment with the arrow pointing to it: if the very top segment above that is lit, it's overfull. If it's overfilled you can get a bunch of oil in the intake, which isn't great, so if that's the case you should probably take care of it.
You can drain it a bit at a time by removing the oil filter housing and pouring it out. Haven't tried this but it's probably about 1/4 qt, which is ~1 bar on the display. May take a few goes but if you don't want to do a full oil change this'll probably work. I know other folks have done this so someone will probably chime in.
Torque spec on the filter housing is 18 ft-lb. I typically run my car one bar below full to avoid the aforementioned oil-in-intake issue.

Chances are the selling dealer overfilled when they changed the oil. I did this the first time I changed the oil myself. I drained oil out from the oil
plug
into a clean container about 1 qt at a time until I got to the right level. After that, I learned to measure what I took out and put back the same amount.
On the
981
, the service manual indicates the "new" engine fill is 10.1 qt and the "change" fill is as 7.5 qt with filter change. I've gotten anywhere from 6.5 to 9 qt out depending on car positioning. If I raise the front of the car a couple inches higher than the back and can get about 9 qt out. But level, you probably get about 7-7.5 qt.
