Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey guys wonder if you can help.. I was at my local Porsche Centre and I noticed that a 996 car had an armourfend/paintshield protecion strip that ran down the back edge of the front wheel arch and round onto the sill... I thought I could do with one of them as that area on my car is pretty worn, and even rusting.. So I am going to get it repaired and woudl be good to fit this protection strip on to stop it from happening again.. I had armourfend on the Exige I had and it was pretty good stuff, helped protect the car.. The only downside is that it does start to pit and look naff after a while but i suspect that it wont be hidiously expensive and you just replace it.. Anyone? Cheers

POST 2Original post

I have recently had Paintshield installed on front splitter (Aero version in body colour.... loves stone chips!) front bumber, wing mirrors and wheel arches front and rear the front extending to the sills and rocker panel. I think yellowing is more a case of poor maintenance (wrong wax type etc) rather than ageing of the film. All I can say is in the 1000 miles I did without the shield the front splitter especially was getting trashed. After pro refurb of it and then shield not one mark and it looks as good as new with a wipe over. So far I am impressed, clearly age issues I cant comment on, but if looked after I would think this will easily pay back on re sale values. Plus I get to drive something that stays looking good.
