Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

I decided to install the Function First front engine mount inserts from Pelican. 2006 Porsche Cayman S Hatchback - Engine Miscellaneous - Page 3 As I half expected, after removing the mount, I found the bushing had already cracked and deteriorated beyond salvage. Only 39,000 miles on my Cayman, but 10 years of supporting the engine and transmission took it's toll. While the car was on the lift, I looked at the rear mounts and noticed that the transmission can be easily moved sideways about 1/2 inch with a small pry bar. So my new plan is to buy the WEVO mounts, front and rear. Now I need to sell my Function First kit and try to recoup part of my $130.... Anyone interested in them for $100 shipped CONUS? The lower control arm bushings aren't looking so great either....:wall:

POST 2Original post

Get ready for some serious NVH especially with the engine mount.

POST 3Original post

I went with the FF engine mount inserts, together with RSS trans mounts, and it wasn't too bad. I really liked it. It was certainly noticeable, so may be a bit much for some people though. We replaced the stock engine mount at the same time due to deterioration like yours.

POST 4Original post

I looked at ********, they have a more stiff than oem center bushing for about $70, I think I'll go with their trans mounts as well. Stiffer than stock but without the vibration associated with the WEVO mounts

POST 5Original post

I was trying to install the ff insert then notice the extra torx bolt on the carrier so can you lower engine enough to remove the 2 bolts thru the bushing holding the bottom carrier? i was afraid to lower more. so you can install insert without removing the mount to front of engine?

POST 6Original post

I changed the OEM front mount as well as installing the FF Orange insert. Mine front mount was shot after 40k miles in a 07 CS. Used their FF transmission mount as well. Engine does not move around nearly as much as before. Not sure about the torx bolt as my shop installed it along with a list of other items.
