Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Hello, I will probably have to get a new rear module (997.618.260.08) and reprogram it to fit the car. I have done similar stuff on Volvo and Citroen with aftermarket units and as I understand it, it can be done with a PIWIS II unit for Porsche. I have found a couple of PIWIS on ebay and aliexpress but I've also come across a unit called JDiag Elite II Pro which seems to be similar to PIWIS and actually seems to run the same software. Have anyone here tried it and can confirm it works? / Boxster 987 owner Joel

POST 2Original post

Joel - it's not running PIWIS software or anything close to it. It does claim to be able to program Porsches - but I couldn't find any spec on what it could program. Neither could I find any reviews of it. Can it program the rear module? Dunno.. buying it seems an expensive way to find out though. BTW - if you look at the connections to the box - they all are about 5-10 years out of current practice. That doesn't itself make it bad - but I see no mention of Bluetooth on it, so it probably will need some hardwire hookup of some sort.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
