Ok, I'm stumped. Is there a way to see/call up when the
next
service is due (via the instrument cluster)? I've searched the owners manual, but can't seem to find hide nor hair regarding this.
After doing an oil change, I used
iCarsoft
to reset the service interval. However, I have no idea if it actually did anything as there was no dash warning indicating an oil service was due.
Additionally, I didn't see where I could change the OEM service interval to something like 5000mi.
Thanks!

I wasn't even aware there was a light / cluster message for this on the 987, though I've only put a couple thousand miles on mine since I got it.
FWIW, on the cars I've previously owned with such a feature, the interval was hard-coded into the ECU with no interaction save from resetting the accumulator back to zero.
When I clear the service reminder my with Durametric the clock goes to 12:00. Did yours do that ? I dont think there is a DIY method of changing the service reminder interval. Ive put about 40,000 miles on mine and never seen the reminder due to resetting it every 5000 miles when I service it.
New the car so might not be up to speed yet. On my 2nd gen, there is a maint que on the OBD screen. I just cycle the wand until it appears, once it does, activate it and it should tell how many miles/days to
next
service....At least that's what mine does.

Yes! My clock did change to 1200, and I couldn't figure out why as I had the battery on a tender the entire time.

The 987.1 must be sans that function. I scrolled through, and scoured the owners manual, but found nothing.
I guess I'll be doing it the old fashioned way; writing the next service reminder on paper.
IIRC the
987.1
oil service light is programmed to come on every 20,000 miles, which was the recommended interval. Of course none of us waits that long to change the oil, so if you reset at every change you'll never see the reminder.
I don't think it's changeable.
Yes, my clock resets, too.
