Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

So I have this brand new wheel I bought - and I want to add a layer of leather to it to bulk out the grip on it. I'm old, and the thin grip the current wheel has isn't arthritis-friendly. To do this so it looks factory - I need to remove (and eventually replace) the plastic trim on the wheel. Photo of the wheel - yellow arrows indicate the part I want to remove: It's not at all clear to me how this piece is held to the frame of the wheel. I tried gently prying under the ends where it goes around the wheel - no luck that way. I see nothing inside the air-bag chamber that might be holding it on, and no holes in the back of the wheel where it might be screwed together. Can anyone provide some clues? TIA!
