Hi,
I believe my windshield washer pump has gone bad. I do not hear any sound when i pull the washer stalk.
A few months ago, I did notice that I would get the low windshield water message on the dash, but haven't really noticed any leaks.
I do not have the low water message, I just don't hear the pump going when I pull on the stalk.
Any articles on how to replace the pump? Any other problems you think it could be?
Thanks.
I'm sure you've checked the fuse but just in case.
I have not!!
Which one is it? I see
Row B, F4 - Headlight Washer System
Row C, F2 - Heated Spray Jets
Not sure which fuse. Check them both. It's not obvious which it is from the fuse assignments.
If you have to get to the pump I think it's at the bottom of the tank. I believe it's accessible by removing the wheel well liner. Don't recall seeing an article. Have you tried the headlight washers? In many cases the pump is separate.
I just tried both. No go. So it's not the fuse.
Going to see if I can find some diagrams on the layout before attempting anything.
I'm guessing the assembly is under the frunk plastic lining and/or the fender liner. it's a bit annoying to remove it all. Dunno if there's a writeup on here for it.
You can reference this post here as well:
After a recent drive, my car started dripping water from an unusual place - just below the left fender arch. Coupled with a low windshield washer fluid warning
next
time I drove. Refilling it resulted in the tank being emptied within a matter of minutes. No previous drips/leaks or even low fluid warning previously. Just adding water every oil service interval.
After removing the tank from the wheel well, diagnosis was leaking from the washer pump body and had to replace the pump and a rubber grommet - items numbered 9,10 in the diagram posted by Jeff_07S.
completion time approx 1 hour to replace, test.
