Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

I am not looking to change critical options on ecu or any safety controls but different lighting options, auto close with key fob remote, speed of spoiler deployment, etc.

Suggestion

I feel fairly comfortable using the Coding functions of Durametric Professional, but I'm not familiar with the "communication language of Porsche control units" so I personally stay away from this feature.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Anyone use this and does it allow you full access to query the modules? I am interested in purchasing a durametrics but am wondering if you can go beyond the settings presented in the UI. Modules have lots of options but some are not shown through the UI. Anyone tried the command line to query the modules directly? Thanks

POST 2Original post

From the Durametrics manual : " Command Console: Available in the Professional kits only, the Command Console is a means to send low-level, manually configured requests to a control unit and see the response. Intended only for those who understand the low-level communication language of Porsche control units, you can use this feature for a deeper level of troubleshooting." I feel fairly comfortable using the Coding functions of Durametric Professional, but I'm not familiar with the "communication language of Porsche control units" so I personally stay away from this feature.

POST 3Original post

The coding functions look great but I think there are options that are not displayed due to scope limitations on the durametrics side to create UI mapping of all functions or they simply think no one cares for it. I am just curious what options there are that we are not shown. I know on some of the BMW coding tools where people have options to query the modules directly they have found lots of useful things that even the dealer coding system don't have access to. Examples would be available feature in Europe that are turned off in the US market due to legal nannies. I am not looking to change critical options on ecu or any safety controls but different lighting options, auto close with key fob remote, speed of spoiler deployment, etc. If you enable the logging function and do some coding, can you see the exchange of the raw commands in the log files? This way one can gain more insight into the Porsche command language.

POST 4Original post

it makes sense that the command line should offer everything the GUI offers? i too think if somebody with programming skills looked into this a little further, it should be able to program everything the pwis software can
