Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.

0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

Suggestion

If you have a Tip, then it also changes the speed of shifts, shift maps, and rev limiter function - but I doubt that would have any significant long-term consequences.

Suggestion

I really can't imagine how it would have any negative effect on the car - if you have MT pretty much all it does is change the throttle response and level of PSM intrusion.

Suggestion

Just recently bought a 2008 Cayman s limited edition design 1 with a sports chrono, i was just wondering if i can always use the sports mode on a daily basis without harming the car on a long term?

Hi All
Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Congrats on your new to you car, and welcome to the Planet! I really can't imagine how it would have any negative effect on the car - if you have MT pretty much all it does is change the throttle response and level of PSM intrusion. If you have a Tip, then it also changes the speed of shifts, shift maps, and rev limiter function - but I doubt that would have any significant long-term consequences.

POST 4Original post

Long term consequences: :hilarious::banana::dance: Enjoy the new ride!

POST 5Original post

just got my Cayman this week too but haven't had a chance to enjoy pressing the "Sport" button due to this crappy weather we've been getting in MD..Cant wait for the warm weather!! Congrats on the new car

POST 6Original post

Thx congrats to u as well, and try as soon as possible to try the "sports" button, u will enjoy it

POST 7Original post

Should be no problem at all. The first thing I usually do after starting up the car is to press the Sport button.

POST 8Original post

Its also the 1st thing I do after starting it up! Wish it had a alway on switch from factory. A few times I actually forgot to put Sport mode on and it takes a second for me to realize its off. I really hate how it feels with it off compared to it being on.
