Had the 14 way seats in my last car, and they were very comfort and offer great mid body grip, if adjusted correctly.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

No doubt this is a repetition so sorry But I'm going to choose my spec on Thursday Thinking GT Metallic with the classic Spyder interior Or Sapphire with black leather Then +++ Got to about £76k Dismissed quite a few colours like white, black etc Just wondered what the consensus is

POST 2Original post

Have you done you PEC half day yet? The Spyder they have is GT Silver with the Classic interior - it was the only thing about the car that didn't make me go WOW! If it is between the two colours you have listed I'd go for the blue. It nice to hear someone else has pushed the Spec. into the high 70ks. I was thinking I'd over done it. This may just mean that two of use have over done it but I keep thinking 'I'm unlikely to ever be ordering a new Porsche again so I may as well get the car I want' Thats what I say to you: Get the car you want and sod what anyone else thinks...... though do tell us here so we can express our views anyway.

POST 3Original post

GT Silver and SBM are both a bit underwhelming in normal daylight, look nice under bright lights though. I don't think GT Silver is worth it, but I would urge you to try and see it for yourself. I think CWM would go well with the Classic interior, but YMMV, as they say on Rennlist! Edited by homerdog on Monday 12th October 19:19

POST 4Original post

Dropped into OPC Tonbridge today to get some bits and bobs and they had a Rhodium Silver - Boxster Spyder in there. Good colour choice

POST 5Original post

I've gone Rhodium - not seen it in the flesh though.

POST 6Original post

FWIW , I had a Rhodium Silver 991 GT3 - always wished I'd ordered it in GT Silver - Rhodium is a funny colour , in some lights it looked amazing and others really flat (generally in direct sunlight) GTSM can also look better in certain lights , however to my eye it looked better than Rhodium more times than not : colour super personal though I realise thee are not Spyder's - but this thread may help ? http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a... And a few on here : http://www.autogespot.co.uk/porsche/981-boxster-sp...

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've gone into the £70s as I tend to tick the boxes. Did it with my GT3 and have never regretted it My view ( and I'm Scottish ) is that £70k is the same as £75k The GT3 is black So I'm stuck if it's not GT metallic SBM is really strong but I might tire of it after a few months And I do like red and black interiors I then add leather leather and other bits inc door sills and best sound and and ... Man maths knows no limits !

POST 8Original post

Is it still possible to order a new Spyder? (as in, go in and order one from the dealer?) Or are all orders now fulfilling previous deposits? Cheers!

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

All sold out BUT I an advised that dealers are taking deposits again as more cars might be coming Might be ..... Might be ... Hand over £5000 and wait

POST 11Original post

I only ordered (handed over my deposit) mine 8 weeks ago and it arrives on this Saturday I when for GT sliver with Spyder interior and satin wheels. And funnily I saw a Gt sliver one on the M25 this weekend...they sound lovely.

Be great to see some pictures of the car on Saturday before I go to lock down Satin wheels ? Is that the same as the GT3 alloy ? Hard to assess without having seen one

POST 13Original post

I had a call yesterday just as I was arriving at the experience centre from my opc telling me that they are due 2/3 cars next year. Second or third qtr. I stuck down a dep so here's hoping. Managed to drive the spyder yesterday for an hour on track, it's lovely, quick and sounds great. It had buckets (not gt3 RS fixed) and was really comfortable. I thought the normal buckets were recliners but they too are fixed in position. Tipping forward to say clean behind seats is possible but reclining fore and aft adjustment isn't. I get now why so many people go for chairs as if you're not happy with the slightly tipped forward position chairs are for you. I think a lot of people don't realised that they're fixed. Colour wise, GT silver with satin palladium wheels is my choice with black interior / red stitching. Thought a lot about colors, love black cars but you lose detail, don't like white cars so thinking red of GT silver. Here's hoping I get one Edited by Fokker on Tuesday 13th October 19:57 Edited by Fokker on Tuesday 13th October 19:59

That's a really quick turnaround ; love to see photos as same colour combo as mine Good luck with new car

That's a really quick turnaround ; love to see photos as same colour combo as mine Good luck with new car I asked my dealer if they had one going spare and luck would have it, they had a GT4 buyer who was unsuccessful but which they had given him a spyder allocation too, but he decided not completed on. So I jumped in I ordered mine with the 14 way sport seats as I have the 918 buckets in my gt3rs and they give me back ache (must be getting old). They are a bit too upright for me and I'm planning on using the spyder as my daily drive so need a bit more comfort. Having to wait until the middle of next week to pick her up, some delay on it being shipped.

The old Spyder seemed to be 'demand sensitive' to the Sports Seats - do you think it will matter as much for this one?

2010spy said: I'm increasingly tempted by the 14 way sports seats. The old Spyder seemed to be 'demand sensitive' to the Sports Seats - do you think it will matter as much for this one? If Mr Demon decides to trade in his GT4 to buy your spyder one day then yes. Otherwise, I'm not so sure. I reckon most are going for buckets so a "rare" sports seat-specced car may still be a desirable niche?

POST 21Original post

Had the 14 way seats in my last car, and they were very comfort and offer great mid body grip, if adjusted correctly. So I have no hesitation in specing them on my car. Did not think about the rarity angle!

POST 22Original post

Excuse my ignorance of Spyder colours, but are there none other than black, white, silver? Just back from Florida and noticed 95% of cars are black, silver, white or grey. I'm going Guards Red for my Cayman. Does the Spyder look naff that colour or isn't it an option?

POST 23Original post

I really am in two minds on the seats. Buckets are more of an event, look great, feel great but are just too forward for a long comfortable drive in my book. The comfort seats are adjustable and well, comfortable but I worry about resale. Having said that, the forums bang on about buckets for resale just like manual against pdk when in actual fact there are probably just as many buyers for both options. My Cayman R has comfort seats and pdk and is advertised for sale. I've had quite a lot of interested in the week it's been online so a sale is imminent. I would worry not and spec what you want after all it's for you, not the next owner.

POST 26Original post

Guards red, Platinum wheels, as here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mT7Hx0g0cI8 Edited by DJMC on Friday 16th October 22:20 To the OP, I tried the 14 way seats vs standard and the only noticeable difference was the extending thigh support. Not essential, but at 6' 1" it's something I'd like to find on my used purchase. But then 2nd hand the extra cost will have been mostly absorbed into the used price. If you get sufficient thigh support from the standard seat (are they Sport Plus in the Spyder?), and you're comfortable, why bother with the 14 way? Edited by DJMC on Friday 16th October 22:24

Edited by DJMC on Friday 16th October 22:24 The14 way seats (actually 18 way) are a no cost option, most see them as down specing a car. Edited by 911gt3rs on Saturday 17th October 10:36

POST 28 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've taken the adaptive seat route for comfort reasons Not sure I care about the resale value as there is always someone like me who does not like bucket seats I have them in my GT3 and find them ideal for longer journeys Mind you I'm not in my 30's or 40's so comfort matters !!!

That is GORGEOUS! Yellow with black wheels and yellow callipers would be my first choice on the Spyder. Congrats!

POST 32Original post

handed over 5k eight weeks ago to a not so local franchised dealer, no build slot as yet or spec details taken. Keep messaging but no news! hope I get the car, it looks great, it will be a long term ownership. Been told there "might" be more allocations for the uk next year. So far only seen one at the Goodwood FOS. Thinking of GT silver, red or now maybe brave and go yellow and black wheels if successful! had a black 993 regretted not buying the yellow one due to the colour. ( and the wife )

POST 33Original post

HI, I've gone for: Sapphire blue Black leather / alcantara in conj. with Yellow stitching Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) Buckets and a smattering of the usual options, came in just above the 70K. Build date of the 10th of December, cannot wait Cheers Chris
