Not sure what makes you think the engine has seized but from memory there is a safety feature which would cut everything off in the event of the car flipping over - it would cut all power and fuel which then has to be reset :dont know:

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

You think you a bad day?
All I can say is please don't ignore insurance, 100 quid vs 12k is not a good deal.
Good question , well slid on a corner doing somewhere between 60 and 80, the car spun around then hit a tyre barrier then flipped over onto the grass. I was wearing a helmet so was left upside down but unhurt apart from a few knocks. The roof is pushed in . both wings, it seemed to flip over the front a bit.
The engines locked either seized or hydrauliced, so I am somewhat pissed off as it could be a total loss to me.
Lots of oil came out too, no idea where from.
I did have a lesson booked on the track but lost it 10 mins before.
If the engines not totally shot, I might try and get the worst knocked out and keep it as a car never to sell, like a rat porsche, There is a 2" gap around the sunroof, so not all weather model, I cant afford to get it bodyshopped, so it will be just a weekend toy.. hold on that's what it was...
Oh well fun while it lasted.
At least you are okay.
And thank you for posting because it's a very good reminder that track days can go wrong (and the reason I have stayed well away)
Bloody hell!
Glad you are ok and seem to have retained your sense of humour....just.
If the engines ok you might fid a write off or engine failed car to rebuild yours into at a reasonable cost.
But still probably cheaper to just write it off and get another one...funds permitting.
So sorry to read your news but glad you are OK.
I'd be wary about driving the car as the structure may be weakened and therefore unsafe?
Hope you can salvage something from the car.
That's a ***** mate, sorry to hear it, glad you are ok, did the airbags go off?
Rest should polish out though i recon
Doest look too bad it could have looked like this...
Engine sounds the worst of it to be honest....
Hi
You will need to see if the chassis is still straight. And check the suspension arms (esp the rear, they bend easily). If it is I like the rat Porsche idea!
Even better might be to turn it into a track car
All the best
Berni
