Read evidence and context

Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Of all the problems to have with a car, this has to be one of most absurd - and it seems to be a relatively common issue! My 996's indicator stalk now no longer clicks to engage when signalling right, and does not self cancel when signalling left. I knew the stalk was fragile from day one and have used it carefully. Porsche, if you are listening you should buy plastic interior trim items off Mercedes in future. Anyone have a spare set of steering column stalks lying around or know of where to get hold of one? My model has the headlight wash, and no cruise control (i.e. three levers) TIA.

POST 2Original post

I have a spare 2 stalk with the indicator/ wiper. The cruise & OBC are separate and screw onto the stalk. The cap is missing off one side so you would have to use your existing one. pic below pm if interested TB

POST 4Original post

The cruise stalk isn't screw-on - it is integral with a 4-way stalk - not that you need it! It's only the OBC stalk which is attached to a bracket.

POST 5Original post

Richard I stand corrected, the stalk is from when I did the OBC conversion :thumb: TB

POST 6Original post

Try Porschepart, Ive noticed they have had a few on ebay over the last few months.

POST 7Original post

Same happened to me and indicators eventually gave up the ghost. Needed a new unit fitting. Go to Porsche or, even better, a specialists.
