Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suggestion
As was mentioned in an earlier post, if the dealer doesn't know it, check with the service department.
Leading evidence: 'Check with the service department' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check with the service department' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hello everyone,
I have been lurking here for the past few months and have now decided to take the plunge in the P-world. If everything goes ok with wifey tonight, I'll be the proud owner of a brand new AS '01 C2 coupe as of tomorrow!!!!!!!!!! <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />
can't even remember half the stuff on it...It's loaded with the sticker price around $78. I am getting it for $65 which is $2 under invoice, I think. Great deal, yaah?? I do remember it is pretty damn loaded and tomorrow (if all goes well tonight) I'll post all the options on it!
The dealer was very good but doesn't seem to know much about TSBs. Apparently, they don't keep a record of TSB for any given model. PCNA is supposed to ???
Anyway, do any of you know the TSBs to be done on 2001 C2?
TIA (& pray for me!),
Chicago996
Congrats hopefully on your Porsche. Of course, everyone on the list wants to know "what you meant by "if everything goes right with wifey tonite" We really don't want to know the details...just kind of gifts and promises you had to make to get her to say the magic word "yes"
RE TSB's I think the website <a href="http://www.alldata.com" target="_blank">www.alldata.com</a> would be helpful (I hope I remembered it right).
And I'm sure there are others who have the TSB's for 01 memorized. I'm just here to congratulate you, etc. Best of luck <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />

Heh-heh-heh, we'll pray for you, buddy. Not only that she will say "yes", but that you survive the conditions for that answer
!!
If the salesperson doesn't know the TSB's, try the service manager.
Good luck!! <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />
Good Luck! Go to the Alldata.com website and purchase a subscription-I think it is $19.95 for a year. They list all TSB's and its a wealth of info.I have a MY99 C2 and its been a big help.
Well Chicago 996...do you have anything to report to the group? <img src="graemlins/jumper.gif" border="0" alt="[jumper]" /> <img src="graemlins/jumper.gif" border="0" alt="[jumper]" /> <img src="graemlins/jumper.gif" border="0" alt="[jumper]" />

Well I guess we know who won that battle.
More seriously Chicago996, hope everything works out. I live in Chicago. Which dealer did you buy the car from (I know all of the dealers well in this area, and can give you the lowdown on each).
Also, there is no excuse for an authorized Porsche distributor to not know the TSBs. As was mentioned in an earlier post, if the dealer doesn't know it, check with the service department.
Regards.
Yaah baby!!!!!!!!!! I am now "in the club"!!
me: Honey, I detoured from work today.
wife: Oh yaah? You went to the grocery store to pick up the OJ after all?
me: I got 2 different styles of OJ. One with extra Calcium and one with extra Vitamins A & E for good health.
wife: great!
me: I detoured a bit more today.
wife: hmmmmmm...ok..
me: You remember the car I always wanted..
wife: ///M5? I thought you said that you had changed your mind to the ///M3? Anyway, I don't think you should sell your Bimmer right now.
me: <oh ****!> Well, I thought that Bimmers were over done and I think I got a great deal on another brand.
wife: What did you do?
me: I wanna Porsche....
wife: hmmmmmmm
me: (Surprised as hell....was expecting some outburst but not a thoughtful hmmmmmmm).
wife: ...hmmmmmmmmmmmm...
me: (uh - oh)

Chicago,
Great story!
Congratulations and best wishes with your new toy! Welcome to the club! <img src="graemlins/bigok.gif" border="0" alt="[thumbsup]" />
I grew up in Chicago and enjoy the west coast almost as much as my C4S!
Hey, thanks a lot everyone for the warm welcome! I am still sorting out the digital camera so pics will come a little bit later but here are the bigger details:
Brand new 2001 C2, Arctic Silver, Partial Black leather
- Comfort Package
- Technic Package
- 18" Sport Design wheels
- Litronics (xenon lamps)
- heated front seats
I got it from The Porsche Exchange in Highland Park, IL. Excellent buying experience. I talked to the sales manager and then the owner and the whole deal was done within half an hour total time. Got the ok from the wife and called the dealership up. The car was ready to go the next day. Picked it up with 192 miles on it (used as a dealer demo once by owner) and now its got over 500. I can't freaking stop driving
Now the hard part: getting some POS commute car so the Porsche can get some rest occasionally <img src="graemlins/roflmao.gif" border="0" alt="[hiha]" />
A question: Do you folks, once who get snow in winter I mean, drive your p-cars thru the winter?
Cheers!

Congratulations!!! Nice car.
Haven't had the car through any winters yet, but I don't plan on driving it through the winter. I do want to keep the car "forever", so I want to avoid the saline slush of winter.
Chicago 996, congrats on your purchase! If I may ask what did you have to promise your wife in return for her approval?
Seriously re winter driving. Here in New England my wife and I drive our 02 Cab right up until the good city employees start putting salt and sand on the roads. We have a C4, so we're not afraid of modest amounts of snow...just the salt and sand.
Here's what can happen to your rocker panels if you race around in the salt and sand!
Hey Thanks Palting and Don. Don, I had to resort to the last low-ball tactic known to husbands: Appeal to your wife's Keeping Up with Jones instinct
. I told her how none of her friends drives a Porsche and that I was thinking that I would teach her how to drive a stick
After that I basically groveled non-stop like any self-respecting hubby and the deal was done <img src="graemlins/bigok.gif" border="0" alt="[thumbsup]" /> <img src="graemlins/roflmao.gif" border="0" alt="[hiha]" />
Cheers!
