2007 Cayman S
(Canadian) replaced OEM audio for
Kenwood
Double DIN. No issues with install and audio quality is superb. Cadence amps and replaced all speakers except for factory
Bose
Sub on floor. Battery disconnected for 4 hours. Two failure warnings: PSM and ABS. Had
Porsche
tech reset through software hook up to OBDii port. Warnings still flashing. Car drives perfect but warnings not resetting. Any advice? Thank you so very much. Proud to be a new member of P9.

I looked into doing that, but decided against it. Did not get the warm fuzzies in my tummy when I spoke to four different stereo shops. I don't have Bluetooth , but I feel that having the two year warranty on the system with my certification was worth keeping the old system . I'm sorry you are having problems with it. Did you do it yourself?
Thanks for the reply. The install was a professional job and highly recommended by other
Porsche
owners. I went to see their work in a similar car before taking the plunge. I have a feeling this is going to be a long road.
When I installed a
Pioneer
head unit in my '07
Cayman
(Base), I also got a PSM failure message but it went away on its own after a few miles of driving as others said it would. I didn't get an ABS warning, though.
I guess you had the
Bose system
in the car before...I know that it has some sort of crazy fiber optic loop that runs through the car and some other special wiring and communication requirements. I have Sound Package Plus so my life was a little simpler.
Since you state you had a "
Porsche
tech" clear the codes, I assume you took it to a real mechanic - or the
Porsche
dealer - not the stereo guys. Did this tech use
PIWIS
, Durametric, or just some generic scanner? A real
Porsche
tech has
PIWIS
and would of checked the code (to find the fault) if it didn't clear after a reset. Did you drive the car more than 100m. That usually clears codes associated with having the battery disconnected.
Whenever you disconnect the battery the PSM warning will come on, after driving a bit it will turn off. I have never gotten the abs warning though so cant say what is going on with that.
