Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

My sole Porsche experiences were test driving Boxster S couple of times.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Background and disclaimer:
I'm a car nut. I don't mean that in the way that I can open the hood and start fixing things. No, I leave that to the trained technicians. I mean, I love the whole concept of cool cars. Big engines, sinous curves, SOLID wheels (know what I mean, jellybean?), driller rotors, humoungous breaks, and extra-sensory handling makes me wanna say: That is living!
Ever since I first learned about the 911 (back in College, Freshman year, circa 1990), I have dreamt about owning one. The classic lines, the heritage, the taut flanks, oh my.... And now, I own one. Its a C2 whereas the ultimate driving machine (he he) would be a 911 TT but still..
Prior to buying it, I had never driven a 911 before in my entire life (or ridden in one).
My sole Porsche experiences were test driving Boxster S couple of times. I was impressed
then but longed for the 911. I didn't want to buy used but, well, there is no way around
it...911s are expensive as hell... Then, one day (2 weeks ago), I happened to come upon a
*new* 2001 Arctic Silver C2. The fire was stoked, the heart raced, the numbers were
crunched, the results were tallied, the dreams were dreamt, the wife was wooed, the cash
register kachinged, and behold, I am holding the keys to that Object D'Art.
Coming from a 2000 3-series cab, I was in for some serious adrenalization (is that a word!) Sitting in the car, smelling that new car smell, I turned the engine on. Strange sounds emnated from the hind quarters; so rough compared to the Bimmer yet so alluring. Everytime I start the car, I get this teeny voice in my head going "This is Houston, Thank you for
waiting 12 years. You are now cleared to takeoff...5, 4, 3, 2, 1, ...!!!!".
The clutch is firm and yet so communicative. Excellent pedal feel to it. No comparison to a non-///M Bimmer. I'm trying to break in the car properly by staying below 4500 rpms till at least a 1000 miles, so first gear is over in a big hurry. Grin plastered, the honeymoon begins anew. I picture the first gear as a prelude to the main event which in my mind is the afterburner, otherwise known as the Second gear. All I can say for now is that I can't wait to take it up the 6800 or so before shifting. But for now, I am content with the mental imagery and the anticipation.
Third gear: Having surpassed all legal speed limits known to the New World and with a grin etched in the face, I now look around me to find that magically, the world stood still while
somehow only I made some progress. Fine by me
Time to enjoy the craftsmanship of a fine German automobile, the sounds of the engine, and the fast receding scenary.
Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth gears: The translation of each flick of my wrist into poetry in motion would have made Einstein proud. If he was still alive, I would've asked him to come up with an equation that captures that! I propose P = MF^2, where P is for Porsche, M is for Mucho, and F is for fun
And then of course there is that near Black Hole experience of being sucked out of your seats if you exert some serious pressure in the Let's Stop in A Big Freakin' Hurry Pedal. That alone can take pages to describe but you get the point
Looks: Going out to the garage for yet another look and then smiling thinking about the NEXT time I will go into the garage for another look! Going out of work simply to admire the profile from hither-to-undiscovered angles. Then quickly looking around into the sea of Toyotas, Honda, Benzes, and even Bimmers and then back to the Porsche for a hugely satisfying, eye-candyfying experiences this side of a clothing-optional Katherine Zeta Jones.
...and this is just the first weekend. Where do we go from here? I don't know nor do I care as long as there is gas in the tank and Houston keeps on giving me permission to take off
